Usually these are fancier, fireworks and stuff, but most of the vids I've seen have been implosions in Vegas.
Memories
Spectacular playing. Makes me want to dance.

The fancy stuff is fun, but as it did here, tends to visually obscure the actual collapse of the structure. I've watched a lot of demolition vids on YT, and am fascinated at the differences in how charges are placed and sequenced. Much as I love fireworks, and I really do love fireworks, I also want to see how the building comes down in a clear visual view.
When the pink, blue, and white smoke came out at first I thought it was going to be some bizarre take on a gender reveal, like the building had a gender or something. LOL
The building slated to replace it is a much taller tower - an eyesore IMO - that will block the views of other buildings on the island. The existing building was more aesthetically pleasing IMO, and blended in better with the other buildings on the island. But alas, such considerations are rarely taken into account when there’s more money to be made by building a high rise. Progress.
interesting. looks like charges on the right, sequenced from bottom to top collapsed the right side, which then dragged the rest of the building down with it. very efficient.
Loved it! Love the Las Vegas collapse videos, too. Still wondering if the smoke ever got to the camera people.
...like the corners of my mind...
Donald Fagen - Walk Between Raindrops
A shadow crossed the blue Miami sky
As we hit the causeway by the big hotel
We fought
Now I can’t remember why
After all the words were said and tears were gone
We vowed we’d never say goodbye
When we kissed we could hear the sound of thunder
As we watched the regulars rush the big hotels
We kissed again as the showers swept the Florida shore
You opened your umbrella
But we walked between the raindrops back to your door
In my dreams I can hear the sound of thunder
I can see the causeway by the big hotels
That happy day we’ll find each other on that Florida shore
You’ll open your umbrella
And we’ll walk between the raindrops back to your door...

I’ll bet somebody proposed making low income housing out of that building, but that process of bringing it up to residential standards would probably be far to long and too expensive.
I had no idea Miami Vice was still (or ever) beloved there.
My favorite’s probably the Riviera — huge, multiple additions and expansions going back 50 some years, I think a countdown, the works. Two separate implosions were needed.
Took a year to clear the implosion debris, so much of it there. I think it’s now a parking lot.
Steely Dan? Wild, “Brooklyn” came to mind because of the line “a tower room at Eden Roc” (which is actually in Miami Beach, but...).
