Given the test scores, them being absent won’t make any difference to the kids.

You Chicagoians should be ashamed for not supporting the teachers’ union. After all, your high school graduates did pass the 8th grade math proficiency test and the 7th grade English test.

It feels like communism is a disease that is spreading. Sometimes I really dislike some of my fellow Americans.

All public employee unions should be PATCO'd, as Reagan did. The Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization was put out of business, angering the Leftists.

Joseph McCarthy purchased for this country an additional twenty years or so to act when he made it irreputable to be a communist. Before he came on the scene, it was simply considered by many to be a “youthful dalliance”.

After McCarthy, for the next twenty years or so, you couldn’t openly be a communist and be taken seriously. Then, those underground communists cut their hair, put on suits, and became like the Democrats of today.

We didn’t take advantage of that, and let them proliferate and enter politics openly...and look where we are now.

Sadly, I see more and more of our population (and the global population) simply being unable to contribute to the national economy. One can argue about how fast AI will get here (I think it’s already here quite a bit) but it seems clear that AI and automation will take over a lot of jobs — many of them white-collar jobs that people went to college to do. And burger flippers and ditch diggers too. Automated driving takes away the truck drivers. I think that quite a large percentage of the population will be sent home: “You’re no longer needed”.

But if people do not work, and have no income, no money in their pocket, then how do they buy products? How do corporations sell products? Where do the profits come from? It all turns upside down.

I don’t look forward to it, but I think that some sort of government Universal Basic Income/Welfare For Everyone, may be inevitable. It wouldn’t be classic Marxism, but it would make government payouts/social credit pretty essential. A sad future.

May 1 was supposed to be the day the dumb, lazy (according to the Democrat/Communist/Jihadist Party) “minority” students were going to be taught how to obtain a photo ID.

The so-called “public” schools needs to closed. Pronto.

LOL, way back in '65, I was in 5th grade. We read Animal Farm in class. Today, it's likely on banned book lists in school libraries.

In 6th grade, we read the Count of Monte Cristo in class. I tested at 12th grade reading level that year.

That was when CA public schools were among the best in the country.
