This is the most consequential moment in the modern Middle East since the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.
No American president has ever – ever – dealt so courageously or so decisively with the Iranian regime since its leaders declared war on America 47 years ago.
The Iranian regime has killed, wounded, and maimed more Americans than any government in the world since the Vietnam War in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Yet no American leader has ever truly confronted the tyrants in Tehran.
Until now.
When Iran ordered its terror proxy, Hezbollah, to blow up the U.S. Marines barracks in 1983 – an attack that killed 241 Americans and wounded 100 more – then-President Ronald Reagan, my favorite modern American leader, didn’t retaliate militarily.
Instead, Reagan pulled all U.S. forces out of Lebanon, effectively giving Iran a huge win.

I was on air alert the day the barracks was hit. Air lifted out the next day from lejeune. Sat in Beirut for weeks waiting to kill something… and waited and waited.

With this action Trump is turning Iran from our worst enemy to probably our new closest ally. The people of Iran will remember Trumps name with honor for generations.

Exactly what he campaigned FOR 3 times.
President Trump is the greatest President in recent history, possibly in all of our country’s history. Even Eisenhower let a lot of business slide that he probably should not have, but hindsight is always 20/20.
Circumstances change.
And there are no American boots in the ground nor do I believe there will be.
This is a case of smash these a-holes into pink slime and leave. Let the Iranian people sort this out.

What a year this has been so far! And we’re only in 2 months.
We have known quite a few Iranians since 1979. Nearly all escaped with nothing but the shirts on their backs, but they were glad to just be alive. I am sure that you are correct.
The war is not completely over. There are outposts in NYC and Texas.
