As the crisis rages in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with no relief in sight, I offer my proposed solution to ending the mayhem.
As John points out, none of this unrest is occurring anywhere else in America, or any other city, other than Minneapolis.
Gov. Tim Walz has proposed as a comprise solution that all federal law enforcement should leave the state, immediately, so that no federal laws will be enforced. In exchange, Walz is willing to continue accepting tens-of-billions of dollars in federal taxpayer money, which he will happily forward to the fraudsters bankrolling the Democratic party in the state.
My counter-offer would have the feds come in and run key state and local institutions until order can be restored.
As for mayhem in the streets, I would federalize (deputize) all Minneapolis police officers as federal officers and have them on crowd control duty as FBI, BP, and ICE agents and others go about their work.
I would have federal prison authorities take over operation of the Hennepin County jail, for the narrow purpose of honoring ICE detainers for the handover of wanted illegal aliens held in custody.
I would have officials from the U.S. Dept. of Treasury take over operations of the Minnesota state treasury. No payments would go out unless verified as compensation for real goods and services provided by bona fide suppliers and vendors. Of course, this is what was supposed to have happened federally with DOGE, but never did.
I believe doing just those three things would solve about 90 percent of the problem.
Of course this plan could not work. Before you could even begin, the state would run to federal court and get pre-emptive rulings by the local, Democrat-appointed federal judges.
Everyone understands that many billions in fraud have already gone out the door, but federal judges rule time and again that the money must continue flowing, no matter what, with no accountability.
Despite reporting to the contrary, the Trump Administration is scrupulous (to a fault) in following all judicial opinions. Even if no one else is willing to do so, they play by the rules, appealing each decision and waiting for an eventual favorable result.
It’s a suicide pact.
Many commentators on social media say that Minnesota should just be abandoned and left to its own devices. Obviously, I disagree.
You can abandon the streets to the rioters but you are then obligated to keep funding the enterprise with no scrutiny.
And then, where do you draw the line, next? Other blue states will quickly conclude that they, too, can have their own immigration laws and unlimited federal funding.
Where does it end?

Uncle Bumble Tim Walz and sneaky crafty Keith Ellison are on TV gaslighting the TV audience at every turn in regards to their role in the unrest in Minneapolis. This is the hill they want to die upon, and they are hurling every scurrilous denial and unsupported conclusion they can make up about the “untrained” and “unaccountable” Homeland Security and Border Patrol officers with the assigned duty to round up and transport illegal aliens to a location from which they may be deported either to their home country or to a rendition point outside the United States.
Pleas do not allow your vision to stray to the unaccountable BILLIONS of Federal funds that have gone astray in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
But now that this Pandora’s box has been opened, it is going to be a little hard to seal it up again.
As a former Minnesotan (long time ago), I must say that Tim Walz is a disgrace to bad governors. He has to be either 1) the stupidest governor in the U.S. (to paraphrase Jamie Lee Curtis in “A First Called Wanda,” to call Tim Walz stupid is an insult to stupid people) or 2) the most ideologically incapable person of self-examination or 3) near or completely insane or 4) completely corrupt and so desperate that he is willing to let a few people (maybe many) die to hide his corruption or 5) some combination of the above. My guess is that all those trips to China did not help his brain very much and certainly poisoned his heart.
Adjacent states because the Leftist swine have no qualms about ruining the lives or even killing those daring to oppose their ludicrous mission to protect parasites who've been ripping them off.
Congress MUST act to reign in these over-reaching judges. The robed partisans not only mock established law, they cause the majority of the public to lose respect for the entire Judicial Branch with each ridiculous decree made outside the bounds of their respective lanes.
Must be a nuclear waste site in or near Minneapolis those people have lost control of their brain 100%.
You do not understand the left.
Their goal is to call you names, then steal your stuff, then kill you.
Walz is an idiot—but he is their idiot.
He is your enemy—fighting for his own side.
Once you get that everything he does makes total sense.
That or the drugs they’re consuming.
He's their useful idiot. The Democratic Party has decided on Minneapolis as their "firebreak". They'll double down and triple down. Otherwise, they'll lose '26 and '28. Which means they'll lose control of the Census in '30. Red States will be up +10 in the Electoral College.
Not just the state, but also Hennepin County is not being well run.🚨UPDATE: Multiple sources confirm Chief Health Equity Officer and VP of Health Equity at Hennepin Healthcare have recently left the hospital. Today, its Chief Financial Officer also left...

This will spread if not stopped. Its past time for Trump to turn his attention away from the never ending overseas distractions and focus on fixing the threat of insurrection and anarchy right here within our own country.
Good assessment. +!
“Congress MUST act to reign in these over-reaching judges.”

You are 100% correct but unfortunately the R’s in congress haven’t lifted a finger to do it. Meanwhile confidence in the judicial system is plummeting. Everyone can see for themselves just how politicized it has become.
Yep.
Agreed.
Yep.
If I'm President Trump, I'll invoke the Insurrection Act now.
Who cares if they call me a "dictator"?
Withdraw federal law enforcement, but first build a wall around the cities. Then cut off all federal funds and services. Allow no one in no one all including all vehicular traffic.
Declare Martial Law and enforce a curfew. Have ICE work during the curfew.
