Houston Lawyer Who Donated To Democrats Is Largest Funder Of PAC Spending In GOP Primaries

A personal injury trial lawyer from Houston, who has historically donated to Democratic candidates, now appears to be the largest financial supporter of a newly established political action committee that is making expenditures in Texas Republican primary elections.

A recent Texas Voice article highlighted Muhammad Aziz as the PAC’s largest donor, based on campaign finance filings. A review of Texas Ethics Commission and Federal Election Commission records confirms those contributions and the PAC’s spending activity.

Aziz, a partner at the Houston-based law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, donated $300,000 to the Justice for Texas Victims PAC on September 23, 2025, according to Texas Ethics Commission campaign finance filings. The contribution accounted for more than half of the PAC’s total reported fundraising during the period.

Justice for Texas Victims was formed on June 30, 2025, and reported $565,000 in total political contributions and $295,209.15 in expenditures during the second half of 2025, according to the same filing. The report shows the PAC made expenditures supporting and opposing candidates in Texas Republican primary races.

Donor Background and Political Giving

Federal Election Commission records show Aziz has made repeated contributions to Democratic candidates and committees over multiple election cycles. His donations include contributions to the Harris County Democratic Party in October 2024 (FEC Schedule A) and to the Biden Victory Fund in November 2023.

Aziz also donated to U.S. Senate candidate Colin Allred (D-Texas) in January 2024 through ActBlue, according to FEC filings.

In June 2022, Aziz donated $2,900 to U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), as reflected in FEC Schedule A filings for Omar’s congressional campaign. Omar has drawn bipartisan criticism for past statements about Israel. In February 2023, House Republicans voted to remove her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee following renewed scrutiny of those remarks.

Omar has also publicly defended her views on Israel and the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, stating in a 2019 interview that she found the debate over her positions “exciting,” according to CNN.

Law Firm Political Activity

Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner have also been significant political donors.

During the 2024 election cycle, the firm donated $300,000 to the First Tuesday PAC, which ran advertising urging voters to oppose “MAGA Republicans” and support Democratic candidates, according to reporting on the PAC’s funding and expenditures.

Campaign finance records show the firm has continued contributing to First Tuesday during the 2026 cycle and has also donated to the Lone Star Project. This organization states its goal is “beating Republicans,” according to Texas campaign finance filings.

Representation of Illegal Aliens

The firm publicly advertises legal representation for illegal aliens in personal injury cases.

On its website, Abraham Watkins states that individuals may pursue civil claims “regardless of immigration status,” including claims for medical expenses and lost wages.

The firm also states that immigration status does not prevent a person from filing a personal injury claim following a car accident.

Professional Profile

According to his firm biography, Aziz has served as lead or liaison counsel in major mass-tort and industrial disaster litigation, including chemical plant explosions and product liability claims.

Aziz received the Excellence in the Legal Profession Award from the Muslim Bar Association of Houston in 2022 and is listed as a $5,000 sponsor of the Houston Bar Association’s Implicit Bias Program.

Broader Context

Justice for Texas Victims is among several political committees funded by trial lawyers and Democratic donors that are active in Republican primaries. Campaign finance disclosures show the PAC made expenditures in multiple Republican legislative contests during the 2026 cycle.

Which senate candidates are they backing? Cornyn or Paxton? The intention, I’m guessing, is to support whom they perceive is the easiest one to beat in the general. Secondly, is this an attempt to help Crockett or Talarico, or do they care?

My libtard BIL has been a registered republican for 50 years so that, as the told me, he could vote for the worst candidate in republican primaries.

IOW, he doesn’t care who the Rats run, he’s gonna vote for him anyway.

I bet through offshore NGOs set up by powerful Arabs in the Middle East, making donations to American NGOs who them make donations to American PACS, Aziz is trying to buy Muslim influence in both parties.

If you love the art of the deal, you don’t care who its with, as long as their is a “buy in” on both sides. “Loyalty” to such allies is nothing other than a shared financial stake in something.
