By pumping and selling Venezuelan oil we'll be able to:
-Reimburse the US oil companies raped by Chavez when he nationalized their industry.
-Reimburse the US the cost of the operation and future management.
-Bring down the national debt.
-Build an even bigger ballroom.
W was (and is) an idiot
Be leery of nice guys.
Smashed massive American election fraud organization perpetrated by Venezuela and China amoung others.
Thank you “Self”! Good points
Aint our oil. Let private oil companies retrieve their own vosts. It is called market risk....or are we the govt planned economy?
Exactly. Why we didn’t seize their oilfields was bizarre. We could have had under $1 per gallon gasoline since the early 2000s.
But isn’t oil a question of national security? It’s not like any other market commodity.
Chavez’s daughter was reputed to be the wealthiest woman in the world with $4 billion in ill-gotten gains. I hope they go after every single one guilty of raping Venezuela & make them give the money back.
No, that's what the democratic socialists Chaves and Maduro were doing.
If we could send Venezuela an invoice and expect it to be paid, that'd be reasonable for our efforts.
But no. In the meantime, the country is ours until Venezuelans are ready to take over.
yeah , that’s the follow up I’m looking for. Mike Lindell must be over the moon.
The Donroe Doctrine.

It’s almost like they don’t want to talk about Venezuala’s involvement in election fraud now.
Saddam should never have been toppled at all. And if we can pump more oil, that’s fine but I just paid $1.97 for gas. So did the US take out maduro for oil or because of some mythical connection to the drug trade that did mor harm than the Sacklers and the pharmaceutical companies?
Let’s fill the SPR back up and call it even. We can’t even secure facilities in Chicago, Portland, Memphis, and Los Angeles. I really don’t want to be in the security role in Venezuela or any other country.
I agree.
That would have saved a lot of lives.
On all sides: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Iraq_War
That surely would have been better than losing >5,000 American lives and blowing over a TRILLION dollars over 8 years (not counting Veterans costs). https://dcas.dmdc.osd.mil/dcas/app/conflictCasualties/oif/byCategory (that doesn’t include our “contractors” etc. Real figure is +1,400 or so.)
I’m sure, that had we wanted to take out Saddam, either by revolt, assassination, or air strike, some opportunity would have opened itself up to us eventually.
I’ll be blunt, Trump is simply smarter than Bush W.
Bush W. wasn’t brain dead like Biden, but he wasn’t a rocket scientist either.
—Trump on the other hand is a quick and results oriented thinker that applies the same sort of thinking you would in business. He’s a pragmatist that thinks more in terms of the end than the means to the end.
—Trump manages risk and understands both opportunity cost and ROI.
—He gets the idea of sunk costs / cutting losses and understands how to negotiate.
—He realizes that his success will largely be based on the subordinate leaders he has in power as the quality of their decisions and leadership matters a lot (some don’t get that: Stockton Rush).
He does all this while being a showman and dominating (taking control) of the media which has a strong bias against him.
He’s unique.
I’m not sure if I entirely agree with what we did.
However, that this likely benefits us and was done in a very smart way, I cannot disagree with.
Those of us who remember “Occupied Japan” know this is the way to bring success.
You commies are always easy to spot.
Oh sorry. My mistake misread your post.
Right, fishermen in high-speed boats with giant bales in the middle of the ocean on a known drug route. Tracked from when they were loading the boats with drugs thanks to our high tech surveillance.
I lost a cousin to the "mythical drug trade" so take a flyin' leap.
