Stanislav Orlov, the founder of the Russian reconnaissance and sabotage brigade “Espanola”, has been killed in Russia, Militarnyi reported on December 19, citing Russian war correspondents and statements from the unit itself.
According to information published by pro-Russian military bloggers, Orlov, known by the callsign “Spaniard,” died from gunshot wounds sustained during his detention. He was reportedly accused of illegally misappropriating 1.5 billion rubles (approximately $18.5 million).
The pro-Kremlin outlet Mash claimed that Orlov had been in a coma for several days prior to his death, though the exact cause of the coma was not disclosed.
Orlov arrived in the Russian-occupied Donbas in 2014, joining militants linked to Igor Bezler’s brigade. He later organized and commanded a reconnaissance unit known as “Skull and Bones.” In 2022, he founded the Espanola brigade, which included hundreds of far-right extremists and neo-Nazis.
The unit became widely known for extreme brutality, including documented calls to torture Ukrainian prisoners of war and acts of violence against civilians. Espanola members openly advocated mutilation of POWs and defined civilians as legitimate targets unless they cooperated with Russian forces.

Poor Orlov. He likely shot himself in the back of the head several times, rather tha suffer the tender ministrations of that great former KGB torture artist Tatianna Toratithov.
Nothing noteworthy there. Folks get shot while trying to escape while in a coma all the time, don’t they?
If you believe the postings of Putin's fan club here on Free Republic you would think Ukraine was full of Nazis, and Putin was trying to eliminate them, but it is the Russians who have an actual brigade made up neo-Nazis.
When Russian information operators accuse somebody else of something it is usually because that is what they are doing.
So, the claim this guy was a neo-Nazi isn't credible.
AI Overview
Russian law generally prohibits the activities of neo-Nazi organizations and the use of Nazi symbols under the Federal Law On Countering Extremist Activity and related legislation. Several specific Russian neo-Nazi groups have been investigated, their members prosecuted, and their organizations effectively banned or liquidated by court decisions.
That’s what’s happening here, hohols and ukie-suckers are projecting their gnatzie blood guilt onto the Russians who fought a (REAL) WAR against them loosing 20 meg people in the process, to divert attention from the Azov Brigade which is quite open about its worship of Stefan Bandera and white supremaciss idology. The ukes are the ones killing civils and blaming the Russians with the aid of the western lying media megaphone.
thank you you said it much better than me.
