Rob and Michele Reiner told friends they were 'scared' about son Nick's 'deteriorating' mental health as he 'harassed fellow stars' at an LA party just hours before double murder

Rob and Michele Reiner were 'scared' by their son's erratic behaviour at a 'ritzy' party in the hours before he allegedly murdered his parents in their $13.5 million mansion, it emerged today.

Nick Reiner was said to be 'acting crazy' and 'running around' Conan O'Brien's Christmas bash 'asking people if they're famous' on Saturday night.

'Nick was acting crazy. He kept asking people if they were famous,' a source told PEOPLE about the event.

Nick reportedly ended up in a 'very loud argument' with his worried parents in front of guests, apparently over his refusal to go back into rehab, with one onlooker claiming he had 'seemed high on something'.

Nick had attended the bash with his mother and father, who had just confided in friends that they were 'scared' and increasingly worried that 'his mental state was deteriorating,' a neighbour has said.

But there was a major falling-out at the Christmas party, which is close to the Reiner mansion.

'Nick was supposedly off drugs,' but it appeared on Saturday night 'not so much off them', an old friend of the Reiners said, adding that Nick was 'badly addicted to a combo of opiates and heroin' and had spent long periods homeless.

Another friend of the family told the New York Post: 'I know [Rob and Michele] wanted him to get help, go to rehab, but he wanted to get help while at home - he did not want to get treatment at a facility'.

Are you saying Nick’s parents should not have been pushing to get him back into rehab?

Newsom signed a bill back in 2023 that supposedly eased the regs involving involuntary civil commitments...

Did the family look into that?

If so, what happened?

If not, why not?

‘Tis a pity he was a gungrabber.

“A lifelong champion of strict gun control”

Dumbass.

weird they would go to a party at all - a Hollywood party - bringing him of all things - if they were so scared and concerned imo.

In retrospect, he should have been a “knifegrabber.”

But it was junior who grabbed the knife.

This wasn’t a new problem.

The kid had stated in old Interviews that he didn’t feel close to his father. He said his father wasn’t good at conversation.

Woke, insane, hard-core liberalism mixed with hard drugs...whadda combo.
I would suspect that ‘combo’ would evntually drive any person into chronic mental madness to the point of blaming and killing their own parents for it.....sad.

There should be a law that allows involuntary commitments. Parents are defenseless when their adult child is a danger to himself and others. The Sandy Hook shooter is a good example of an adult child who was severely mentally ill. Unfortunately involuntary commitments could be easily abused.

You know with the Kid.

I Think of Alec Baldwin’s treatment of his kids:

“You’re a disgusting, fat little Pig”

Sounds like the Reiners were more worried about how it would look publicly if they had their son legally committed to a mental institution than begging him to go back to a drug rehab..They knew after 15 years of drug rehab failures what needed to be done

..."a mental institution for 72 hours." I guess that is just the psyche floor at the local hospital. I swear I don't know of a single "mental institution" anywhere around here.

All, are there some in your areas?

No normal person murders someone over a domestic dispute but it takes a special kind of drugged out psycho to murder your parents ISIS-style.
