Maddy Olcott plans to start a career once she graduates from college. But the junior at the State University of New York-Purchase College is so far not planning to start a family — even with the Trump administration dangling inducements like thousand-dollar “baby bonuses” or cheaper infertility drugs. This story also ran on CNN. It can be republished for free.
“Our country wants us to be birthing machines, but they’re cutting what resources there already are,” said Olcott, 20. “And a $1,000 baby bonus? It’s low-key like, what, bro? That wouldn’t even cover my month’s rent.”

It's sickening what this country has become. Underlying this discussion is what is quietly assumed as the case: that women just become mothers without the foundational reality of marriage and family.

How can you raise children without a massive gummit to pay for them from cradle to grave?

Maddy — if you really exist — it’s just as well that you don’t have children, as you don’t sound like good mother material.

Maddy doesn’t sound like good wife material either. Not that she’s considered that.

Product of the Trump hating, abortion loving educational system.

It takes time energy and money to raise kids. Conceiving them is an act of faith that it will work out.

I”m sure Maddy is a black-studies major. Yeah, that will help her get a career.

It takes time energy and money to raise kids. That's why doing it in the context of a marriage is imperative.

The middle class pays thousands out of pocket in labor and delivery costs. The underclass gets Medicaid and pays nothing.
The middle class have to buy more groceries. Baby food and formula is expensive. The underclass gets SNAP, WIC, and EBT.
The middle class needs bigger housing to raise a family in. The underclass gets Section 8.

I would love this legislation to require recipients of the benefit to be married, with a spouse working and providing most of the support.

Like the legions of brainwashed women this woman thinks the state should help her raise her children. It’s an awful premise but ubiquitous among young women voters

This is just another example of the media searching for ways to attack the Trump administration. The non-stop barrage of negativity once again is taking a toll.
We'll need a booming economy next year to reduce the possibility of the Woke takeover of Congress in the mid-terms.
To: fwdude
What ISN’T going to help is Trump’s buddy, Pulte, coming out with a FREAKING FIFTY YEAR ENSLAVEMENT MORTGAGE THAT ONLY SAVES ABOUT $30 A MONTH BUT ADDS ON TWENTY YEARS OF PAYMENTS.

You get more of what you subsidize, and less of what you tax.
We tax diligence and planning and life choices that lead to prosperity.
We subsidize indolence and bastardy.
