Christianity Today is doubling down on woke.
The Christianity Today Board of Directors has unanimously elected Dr. Nicole Massie Martin as its next President and CEO.
Dr. Martin has an impressive academic resume. She's the founder of SoulFire Ministries with degrees from Vanderbilt, Princeton, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where she currently works.
And, of course, she's as woke as the day is long. Here's an article from the good doctor from one year ago about voting for Kamala Harris:
At ages 9 and 11, my girls watched my husband and me vote for the one we believed would be the best-qualified president of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris. And now they witness the grief that comes from knowing that the candidate we championed has lost the race. They watched as our faces fell when we heard the results. They experienced our sorrow, not only for this loss but also for the fear of what might happen in the coming days and years.
Billy Graham is turning over in his grave. Here's another small sampling from Dr. Martin's author page at CT:
Welp. It's not like Christianity Today has been a serious publication for years anyways.
Oh, here's an excerpt from Nicole's book, "Nailing It":
Black Americans remain the most targeted group for hate crimes, they too saw an increase in traumatic murders and hate crimes during this season. Millions of people watched as George Floyd's life was snuffed out as he suffocated under a police officer's knee, further underscoring the racialization of death for petty crimes. Black men dying for small infractions has become a common occurrence in America, and while some called 2020 a year of "racial reckoning," others felt that nothing changed.

“my girls watched me vote for the one we”
It’s me
Yes now the other way would be:
My wife and I went fishing π£π£π£
My wife went fishing π£π£π£
I went fishing π£π£π£
God bless, guys πππβοΈ
(βMy husband and I votedβ is correct.)
If the sentence had read like that, yes in THAT case it would be proper.
God bless π
(Christianity Today has been declining for a while,)
Yep. I worked at a church organization that had
people like this in charge. Of course the seminary
had been taken over by Liberals.
Seminaries began to reward virtue signals and proper narratives rather than the truth. It’s what I call the “Yes but” theology. “Yes the Word of God is clear on that matter but have you considered current times?”. They invented inane terms like “bash Scriptures”.

Yep
All part of the Apostasy of the End Times
2nd Thessalonians 2:1-4
21st Century King James Version
2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto Him,
2 that ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as if from us that the Day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for that Day shall not come, unless there come a falling away first, and that Man of Sin be revealed, the Son of Perdition,
4 who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth as God in the Temple of God, showing himself to be God.

So, do we riot and burn down buildings at Vanderbilt, etc.?
well, i wouldn’t call her a “Dr.” and I sure wouldn’t call her a “lady”.
LOL πππ
I hope not πππ
Multiple universities have done this
I only know about 5 major ones so far
The rag has hit bottom. It’s been a long, steady slide to the bottom.
Carl FH Henry, Harold Lindsell probably never expected this.
They should change their name to Itching Ears.
I just hope and pray ππ that people start
to realize that they are being conditioned.
Is it being intentionally done? I don’t know.
It will be Safe, Convenient, Secure, Fast ...
CONTROLLING - GEOFENCING

Her grammar is correct. The 1st person personal pronoun is serving as a direct object in that sentence, and the objective case for that pronoun is me, not I.
I can’t get beyond the fact that she (as a woman) serves as a pastor. Nothing after that is surprising. Then again, the magazine is called Christianity TODAY, not Christianity as It Should Be.
That was the first thought of a title I thought of before I read it in your post.
You would think this new CEO of a Christian organization would focus on the mission of Jesus Christ instead of an anchor baby politician who got her career started by having sex with Willie Brown.
It just demonstrates that Dr. Nicole Massie Martin’s true religion is politics and she worships the democrat party. /spit
I saw that. I expected, “me and my husband”.
She is grammatically correct. “My girls watched me”. My girls watched “I” is incorrect.
I don’t have a problem with a Woman being a pastor. I’ve seen it most of my life, not necessarily in my own Catholic religion, but in most others. Women are just as capable as men to communicate the Lord’s word. The problems start when any leader stops thinking independently and tries to shape their beliefs to suit their peer group.
