MILLIONS Left the Faith Because of This Sneaky Lie Taught in Schools Calvin Smith November 15, 2025 This sneaky lie taught in schools all over the world has caused MILLIONS to abandon the Christian faith… Join me as I expose why evolutionary ideas about rock layers are not only false, but very harmful.

I am a big fan of Kuhn’s book but my interpretation of it is a bit different than what you are suggesting.

If a young scientist tries to argue that Dark Matter and Dark Energy is total nonsense their young career is over.

It is not going to be “sorted out” until—as you correctly say—the old scientists die.

I can’t say. But certainly the first 3 days were days prior to a 24 hour Earth day. Just because we might easily ascribe our known length of day to a Genesis day, that doesn’t mean our assumption is correct. I’m certain God can do in an instant what might take mankind a thousand years. So I cannot comprehend what period of time might transpire in a God day, but I suspect it is longer than 24 Earth hours.

Catholics accept both Gods hand in creation and a very old Earth.

But do they believe that souls receive life in themselves and are saved by effectual penitent, heart-purifying ("purifying their hearts by faith"), regenerating, justifying faith in the Sin-bearing, Atoning, Crucified and Risen Divine Son of God, (Acts 10:43-47, 11:13-18, 15:7-9; Titus 3:5) who saves sinners on His merit, (2 Cor. 5:21) thereby being made "accepted in the Beloved." (Eph. 1:6)

For which faith is imputed for righteousness, (Romans 4:5) and is confessed/shown by baptism (Acts 2:38, 8:12, 36, 37) and following the Lord according to His word, by His Spirit, (Acts 2:38-47; Jn. 10:27, 28; Romans 8:13, 14) with repentance when convicted by conscience of not doing so. ((2 Samuel 12:7-13; Psalms 32:5, 6, 51:3; Hosea 5:15; 1 John 1:9)

Glory and thanks be to God. Which faith is in contrast to those who were never born of the Spiritor who terminally fall away, thereby forfeiting what faith obtained. (Gal. 5:1-4; Heb. 3:12, 10:25-39)

I see thru a glass darkly, and have no clue on HOW God did it all, but the big E that has dangled the shiny object of HUMAN 'evolution' has a hell of a lot more unexplainable smaller tidbits of "E" to explain first.

Which came first?

The penis or the vagina??

Why are there plants AND animals?

If life spontaneously sprang from goo, then wouldn't ETERNAL life be easier to achieve than sexual reproduction?

If life spontaneously sprang from goo, then WASN'T ETERNAL it would have had to die. then it had to Spon... over and over and over until YAHOO!!! it learned how to reproduce what it already had!

Yeah - that''s the ticket!!

ME:  Mt Saint Helens erupted, they checked the new land made by it two weeks later. Carbon dating said it was formed millions of years ago. REALLY??

Copilot:  That story gets repeated a lot in creationist circles, but it’s a misunderstanding of how dating methods work. Let’s break it down clearly:

🌋 What happened at Mt. St. Helens

  • The volcano erupted in 1980, producing new lava domes and ash deposits.

  • Some samples of this “new rock” were later submitted for dating tests by critics of mainstream geology.

🧪 Why “carbon dating” doesn’t apply

  • Radiocarbon dating (C‑14) only works on things that were once alive (plants, animals, etc.), because it measures the decay of carbon isotopes absorbed during life.

  • Volcanic rock is not organic, so carbon dating would never be used on lava or ash.

  • Instead, geologists use radiometric methods (like potassium‑argon or uranium‑lead dating) for volcanic material.

⚖️ The confusion

  • Some creationist groups claimed that dating tests on Mt. St. Helens rock gave “millions of years” results even though the rock was new.

  • In reality, the tests were misapplied:

    • Potassium‑argon dating is not reliable on very young rocks because the argon hasn’t had time to accumulate.

    • Submitting freshly formed rock for such a test is like trying to measure the age of bread that just came out of the oven with a tool designed for fossils.

✅ The scientific consensus

  • Geologists never claimed the 1980 lava was millions of years old.

  • The “millions of years” claim comes from misuse of dating methods by groups trying to discredit mainstream science.

  • Properly applied, radiometric dating consistently shows that Earth’s rocks range from thousands to billions of years old, depending on the material.

So the short answer: No, carbon dating did not say Mt. St. Helens’ new land was millions of years old. That’s a myth born from mixing up dating methods and misusing tests.

Would you like me to show you a side‑by‑side chart of dating methods vs. what they can actually measure? It’s a handy reference for spotting when someone is misapplying the science

There is a podcast right now popular among liberal white suburban moms…I don’t like to generalize…but you get the sense the two co-hosts, I think they’re both from Oklahoma?

At the very least came from a very Bible Belty milieu…And…this is them now:

I sometimes bring up the Cambrian Explosion as an archaeological argument against natural selection.

Sometimes I point out evidence of design by pointing out things that had to be fine tuned (typed in my best Hugh Ross voice LOL) or they wouldn’t support advanced life. Things like if one of the universal constants was off by just a teeny bit—how atomic cohesion wouldn’t exist.
