Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has disclosed alarming figures regarding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fraud. She revealed that 186,000 dead people are still receiving SNAP benefits and that roughly 500,000 participants may be collecting duplicate payments.
Rollins said that upon taking office, she contacted all 50 states requesting detailed information on SNAP recipients, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and addresses. She said this marked the first time the federal government had requested such data to ensure food stamps are not being distributed to ineligible recipients, including illegal immigrants.
“The Democrat Party has turned its back on working Americans and built its entire strategy around protecting illegal aliens,” Rollins wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “They know if the handouts stop, those illegals will go back home, and Democrats will lose 20+ seats after the next census.”
According to Rollins, 29 states, mostly Republican-led, submitted their data earlier this year, which was analyzed over the summer. “[H]ere’s the most unbelievable news I have [learned] really just over the last few days: That 5,000 dead people, that was just one month; the number is closer to 186,000 deceased men and women and children in this country are receiving a check,” she said.
Rollins added that data from Democrat-leaning states had not yet been fully reviewed, suggesting additional discrepancies may be uncovered. She announced plans for a comprehensive overhaul of the SNAP program, which would require all recipients to reapply and verify their eligibility. “It’s gonna give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program,” she said.
The SNAP program has seen significant changes in participation in recent years. Data indicates that since President Donald J. Trump took office, the number of Americans receiving food stamp benefits has declined by more than 600,000.

I like that they are requiring people to reapply but here is one problem. One of the EBT flexers dancing around with her hauls said she had a hook up at the EBT office who took care of her

I am sure there is a lot of fraud taking place from the workers. Probably even payoffs
No, cash on SNAP cards aren’t going to dead people. Why? Because they are dead. The cash is going to fraudulent people alive who ought to be subjected to years in prison, with 2 SNAP cards years say 10 years, 3+ cards maybe 15 years all without parole.
Or most of our do-nothing but tax and spend congress and accumulate debt, take your pick.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if some corrupt judge sues to stop the resetting of SNAP.
I worked with a doctor back in the late 1990’s who was SELLING disabled parking placard applications.
A patient came in one day and asked me about one, offered me $100 if I would complete the application for him. I had NO idea what he was talking about and no, I wouldn’t do that, I could lose my license. Well, the OTHER doctor does it and my friend just got one and yadda yadda.
He left and I got curious as I was covering his clinic that day so I dug around in his desk drawer and there was a STACK of copies of the old forms (before digital/online) he had signed off on, several dozen - but no money.
Being me, I reported this (anonymously) to the BPQA in Maryland, there was some noise made about it, said doctor went around whining and complaining overtly denying the whole thing then had to attend several hearings and he kept his license ANYWAY and the company put out an order that NO disabled parking passes were to be written for ANY patient in the practice, to leave it to our orthopedic/neurological or other specialty referrals to make that decision.
Months and years later patients would STILL ask me for the parking placard. I left this practice when I got board certified and went into civil service.

Match up the SNAP database with the DMV and SS database. every duplicate gets removed. Every non-match against SS gets removed. If there are complaints afterwards, those that were removed can show up to an SS office and prove that they are only receiving one or no checks. More than one, you are liable for having that money and it will be clawed back.
Until the blue states comply all tax payer funded payments stop immediately.
But no one will be prosecuted for fraud.

We might be talking real money.

Anyone who continues to collect Social Security or Snap Benefits or Welfare benefits after the death of the recipient should be prosecuted and pay restitution and fines or go to jail.
In addition to making everyone reapply, they need to require a photo on the snap card and a second photo ID to use it that gets scanned and recorded at point of sale, like they do at a pharmacy.
Run warrants on everyone that reapplies and arrest all the fugitives on site.

Wonder how many state employees are in on it?.
We do paper work we see nothing?.
I can get VIP parking (that’s what it is) but refuse to request it from my doc. I see a lot of stickers and plagues on unlikely vehicles - F-150s and luxury sedans. It’s not due to the driver needing it, but he takes his dear auntie to the doctor every other month, so he qualifies.
Another problem caused by the ADA law.
They should have to do their taxes before they get anything , every year
