There’s no getting around it: Our "corporate media" is down on capitalism, and a new poll showing a growing disdain for the foundation of American economic thought shows the media tilt may be working -- or the professorial tilt.
An NBC News poll of 1,000 registered voters found that support for capitalism fell under 50 percent for the first time in seven years. The chilling shift “comes as some democratic socialists, like New York mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, gain prominence in the Democratic Party,” NBC News national politics reporter Ben Kamisar wrote in his November 2 item. Only 44 percent of registered voters — a mere plurality — now view capitalism positively. Previous NBC News polls “showed slim majorities viewing capitalism positively.”
Just seeing what the American people are inundated with on a day-to-day basis by rich media hacks denigrating the very system that gave them their prosperity in the first place.

LOL. The great trick of progressives and socialists
Calling a government-directed, highly-regulated, statist, politicized, printed-money and debt bloated economy “capitalist,” because there are still some people who are richer than others.
But we’re not a capitalist society…haven’t been in decades.
The economy has been so mishandled for years to present I ma not surprised...
Socialism is coming. I sincerely hope I’m dead before it gets here.
Capitalism is freedom. All other forms of government is slavery. It’s that simple.
Will Rachel Maddow and the other multimillionaires allow their money to be confiscated and given to the welfare recipients?
She can work pro bono denouncing Trump and capitalism on TV.
Between all the federal government programs, you already have a high share of government involvement, 32%: https://www.cms.gov/data-research/statistics-trends-and-reports/national-health-expenditure-data/nhe-fact-sheet#:~:text=The%20largest%20shares%20of%20total,(FFCRA)%20continuous%20enrollment%20provision.
The government already basically manages our health care through a “standard of care” they more or less define through the NIH, CDC, FDA and DEA. They decide what care you get for what condition etc. Insurance, doctors and hospitals won't side step that since insurance won't pay and as long as you stay inside that standard you're largely protection litigation.
When Obama decided gender dysphoria is a condition needing paid for by insurance, so it was:
You only have a private store front, with private hospitals, doctors, big pharma, medical device manufacturers and insurances that all want to maximize their profits.
What we have in America, is socialized health care at the maximum price the market will bear.
How about we poll some folks that have lived in places with alternatives to Capitalism? This is like polling the local trailer park “if they prefer marble and bidets over outhouses and peel-n-stick tile”
Memphis just announced they are vying to be the next NYC. Immediately free mass transit for all, and city run food distribution. I am sorry to inform all that they will have to live with their awful decisions in order to recognize that they were awful decisions.
Do nothing Republicans better act like their doing something besides morning pressers.
They’re
World War II showed the world the extraordinary power of propaganda to shape and twist the collective views of entire nations to fit any agenda, be it worship of an Emperor, or rabid racial extremism. The post WW2 media world realized this, and honed it into a fine art capable of foisting the worst people imaginable to high office, or to make you believe cigarettes are good for health, depending on who’s message it is.
Socialism destroys capitalism by sucking it dry.
“The NBC News poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters from Oct. 24-28 via a mix of telephone interviews and an online survey sent via text message. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.”
That is the only info on methodology provided.
Nuff said.
Hardly surprising since the level of wealth disparity is the highest it’s ever been in all of history. And instead of the billionaires just sailing off in their yachts they instead use their wealth to capture politicians who jerk the masses around to do the bidding of these globalist billionaires. So if capitalism loses favor you can blame it on them.
I get the point of your rhetorical questions, but may answer is - Yes it would. There's still a lot more political social-engineering, and economic destruction possible in our health care system.
For some reason, even conservatives still have a marxist historical determinist view of history - unidirectional and always heading towards more collectivism and state control.
We need to fight against this bias.
Blame the Department of Education.
The trick is calling the USA a democracy and then using polls to move opinion. The majority does not rule in this country!!
