Why Is Bill Gates Backtracking on Climate Alarmism?
The New American ^ | October 30, 2025 | Paul Dragu

In 2021, Random House published a book by software tycoon Bill Gates titled How to Avoid a Climate Disaster. The message was clear: The world is heading toward a climate catastrophe if humans keep using fossil fuels. Everyone in the world had been hearing that message loud and clear for the previous two decades, and Gates, who’s been moonlighting as a climate expert for just as long, was not only one of the loudest voices to broadcast it, but someone who had put piles of money where his mouth was.

But something very interesting happened this week. Sure, he still believes man-made climate change exists. And sure, the world hasn’t reached its emissions goals. But there’s no disaster on the horizon. “Climate change is not the biggest threat to the lives and livelihoods of people in poor countries, and it won’t be in the future,” Gates announced this week on his personal blog, GatesNotes.

To show that he’s serious, reports say, he’s not even attending the United Nations’ annual COP30 (Conference of the Parties) climate freakout summit next month in Brazil. But he did offer advice to the people going. He suggested they do something more useful with their money and influence. Perhaps they should focus on “improving lives.” He said, “Our chief goal should be to prevent suffering, particularly for those in the toughest conditions who live in the world’s poorest countries.” There’s a limited amount of resources to go around, and spending so much on climate change is “diverting money and attention from efforts that will have more impact on the human condition,” he added. The essence of his argument is this:

Data centers need LOTs of power....reliable power and Gates knows wind/solar cannot deliver.

1. He’s going all-in on AI technology.
2. It requires massive amounts of reliable energy, which means windmills and solar panels just ain’t going to cut it.

“AI-powered devices make it possible for health workers to provide ultrasound exams for pregnant women in low-income settings”

Wow, cool, rad. But I would think hospitals or even trailers could also do it.

The power requirements for AI dwarf residential needs, as well as driving kilowatt-hour prices into the stratosphere.

Also, data farms can’t vote. So how does this play out?

Exactly. President Trump has found the ultimate wedge issue to separate the tech giant from the Green Economy scam.

“Better health, he reasons, results in higher agricultural output.”

He’s weird. FERTILIZER...produced by natural gas (methane), by the way, results in higher agricultural output.

AI farms need enormous amounts of electric power, some or most of which will have to come from fossil fuels.

It's amazing how our elite was willing to make us all freeze in the dark to "save the planet" and hold up nuclear power but as soon as AI shot up electric demand by the tech lords, "climate change" goes out the window and suddenly billions and billions of dollars are available for new power plants including nukes.

Can you say, "Filthy oligarchy?" Sure you can.

“Emissions have dropped 40 percent over the last 10 years.”

Wow, I didn’t Gates was into acid, too. The ONLY way one comes up with that stat is by ignoring China, Russia, India, and other countries not controlled by Leftists.

It’s hard to keep going when 100% of the doom predictions for the past 50 years have failed to come true. People started to notice. Soon global warming will go down the memory hole and get replaced by something else.

“”Why Is Bill Gates Backtracking on Climate Alarmism?””

***

Um... just an off the cuff guess...

Because he’s a lying “you know what” (rhymes with bunt)... and he has always been such... but now.. he has something else... something different and ‘new’ to lie about. And sadly, there are plenty of duh-uhs that will believe him...

even after his previous BS spews.

Bottom line.... the DS globalist leftist agenda has fundamentally transformed into something that they hope is more credible, less BS’able and more palatable to logical minds that still have working brain cells. They’re wrong, of course. But what’s new.

Say what you will about Gates but he isn’t stupid.
Facts and data, and real time observations
Dispute the Political BS on Climate
change caused by man.
We just aren’t that powerful,
it is a natural occurrence.

Pollution is something we cause and
can do something about.
But we can’t regulate the Sun,
nor change the nature of the
self regulating system
God created for us on Earth.
No other observable planet,
has a system like ours.
Explain that.
If Godless evolution exists,
why is Mars so barren?
There should have been something that Godlessly
evolved there, which by our standards is
a fairly benign environment.

Even an atheist like Gates is figuring it out.

To distract everyone from how badly Windows 11 sucks in general and specifically from how a stupid Microsoft Azure configuration mistake yesterday knocked out Microsoft services for enormous numbers of users worldwide.

In short, if you depended on Microsoft “cloud” services for anything, you were screwed.

It’s clearly AI energy needs, but the libs ultimate goal is to dictate how people live , and to control our behavior to their liking so the world runs smoothly —with them in charge, of course.

So, how does this fit that goal ? AI, digital ID, internet censorship, etc. ?

I’m glad he’s dropped the climate crap, but will remain on guard.
