Zohran Mamdani’s New York Infecting America

Zohran Mamdani, the Communist/Socialist child of wealthy privilege in New York, is the new face of the Democrat Party. And, as in the fantastical post-apocalyptic photo above, Mamdani’s expected victory as mayor of New York next week will bleed red all over the national Democrats, even as it threatens America.

Because Mamdani is the poster child of the party that promises: Give us what we think we’ll deserve or we’ll use our votes to take it from you.

He smiles often. He speaks in reasonable tones saying unreasonable things. He cast himself among the communists by parroting Frederich Engles on seizing the means of production.

Those are Mandami’s own words. Not mine.

And at a recent rally he stood with his Democrat leftist soul-mates NY Rep. Ocascio Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders who like the red algae in the photo above smile as they destroy America from within. And the seething angry crowd, many white leftist women fueled by envy, shrilly demanded to “Tax the rich!” If they screamed “Eat the Rich!” would America have noticed a difference?

These are the new Jacobins. Violent and angry. Set aside the tribal thrill of their leftist exhortations and you can see the inevitable panic setting in among the rest of us.

Other New Yorkers are begging their fellows to join a last-minute switch to support the smarmy Democrat liar, granny killer and sexual harasser Andrew Cuomo, now allegedly an ‘independent.’ They’re pressuring Republican Curtis Sliwa to step down.

“We cannot afford to cling to party loyalty or an ideal candidate,’ write Samantha Ettus and Aliza Licht in AM New York. “Sliwa’s voters must choose reason over delusion and practicality over fantasy. Vote for Cuomo, the candidate who can beat Mamdani. A vote for Cuomo is a vote to secure the future of New York.”

This nonsense reminds me...

The perfect Manchurian Candidate.

100%. His entire story, and his family's story, have the stink of a phony, woke, globalist manufactured-intel agent narrative.

Perhaps the author meant ‘Friedrich Engels.’

Mamdani is the new Bernie Sanders. Bernie may not have won the presidency, but he succeeded in changing the narrative to make socialism an acceptable word to be championed by the Dims openly, no longer in hush whispers.

Mamdani is doing the same with communism. Your father's and grandfather's JFK Democrats are no more. Todays Dims are officially the America hating party of communism.

This article has it backwards. Mamdani isn’t infecting the country. The country was already infected with “gimme free stuff and make someone else pay for it” and Mamdani is the result.

Mamdani was born on October 18, 1991, in Kampala, Uganda, the only child of postcolonialism academic Mahmood Mamdani and filmmaker Mira Nair. He was given his middle name, Kwame, by his father in honor of Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. Both his parents are of Indian descent; his mother is a Punjabi Hindu who was born in Rourkela and raised in Bhubaneswar, and his father is a Gujarati Muslim who was born in Bombay and grew up primarily in Uganda. His paternal grandparents were born in present-day Tanzania and his father’s family was part of the Indian diaspora in Southeast Africa. His maternal grandmother was a social worker and founder of the Salaam Baalak Trust.

Mamdani lived in Kampala until he was five, when his family moved to Cape Town, in South Africa’s Western Cape province. He attended St. George’s Grammar School in Mowbray while his father taught African studies at the University of Cape Town. The family then moved to the US, settling in New York City when Mamdani was seven, and he was raised in Morningside Heights. He has described his upbringing as “privileged”, saying, “I never had to want for something, and yet I knew that was not in any way the reality for most New Yorkers.”

Mamdani attended the Bank Street School for Children on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where he successfully ran as the independent candidate in a middle school mock election, adopting a platform of “equal rights, anti-war [policy] that proposed spending money on education rather than the military”. In 2003, he returned to Kampala for a year and attended school during his father’s sabbatical there; his paternal grandparents and aunt still live there and helped take care of him while his father was working on the book Good Muslim, Bad Muslim.

Mamdani graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in Kingsbridge Heights, where he co-founded the school’s first cricket team and unsuccessfully ran for student body vice president. He also played soccer with the West Side Soccer League. Mamdani then attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where he co-founded the school’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. He graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Africana studies.

Before running for office, Mamdani worked as a foreclosure prevention and housing counselor. There, he assisted lower-income non-white homeowners in Queens with eviction notices and efforts to remain in their homes. He said the experience motivated him to run for office to address the housing and affordability crisis.

Mamdani is a dual citizen of Uganda and the United States; he was naturalized in the latter country in 2018. He is Shia Muslim and identifies with the Twelver branch. In February 2025, Mamdani married Syrian-American illustrator Rama Duwaji in a civil ceremony at New York City Hall. The couple met years earlier on the dating application Hinge, and held a private nikah ceremony in December 2024. Mamdani and Duwaji reside in Astoria, Queens.

Mamdani is a fan of the New York Mets and the New York Giants. He also supports the English soccer club Arsenal. Additionally, he is a fan of All Elite Wrestling, attending its inaugural Grand Slam television special. Besides English, Mamdani has spoken other languages during his mayoral campaign, showing different degrees of proficiency in Hindi–Urdu, Bengali, Spanish, and Chinese.

Mamdani entered New York City politics as a volunteer for Ali Najmi’s campaign in the 2015 special election for the 23rd district of the City Council. In 2017, Mamdani joined the New York City chapter of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and worked for the campaign of New York City Council candidate Khader El-Yateem, a Palestinian Lutheran minister and democratic socialist from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Mamdani served as the campaign manager for Ross Barkan’s 2018 bid for the New York State Senate and was also a field organizer for fellow democratic socialist Tiffany Cabán’s 2019 campaign for Queens County District Attorney.

In October 2019, Mamdani announced his campaign to represent New York’s 36th State Assembly district, which encompasses Astoria and Long Island City in Queens. He was endorsed by the DSA, running on a platform of housing reform, police and prison reform, and public ownership of utilities. Mamdani’s June 2020 primary victory over four-term Democratic incumbent Aravella Simotas took almost a month to call, and he won the general election with no Republican opposition in November. Mamdani was reelected without opposition in 2022 and 2024.

On October 23, 2024, Mamdani announced his candidacy for mayor of New York City. His platform includes support for free city buses and a rent freeze in rent-stabilized housing. Mamdani also wants the city government to operate five grocery stores—one in each borough—to drive down grocery prices. His platform includes support for universal child care and for the construction of 200,000 new affordable housing units. He also supports public safety reform and a $30 minimum wage by 2030. His platform calls for tax increases on corporations and those earning above $1 million annually.

During his mayoral campaign, Mamdani has said his leadership style would resemble those of Boston mayor Michelle Wu and Baltimore mayor Brandon Scott. He often praises Wu—whom he calls the most effective current Democratic politician—for her policies such as fare-free public transit, which inspire his own proposals for New York City.

Mamdani pledges to cut taxes for overtaxed outer-borough homeowners while raising them on expensive homes in wealthier, whiter neighborhoods. His proposal targets a 1981 law that bases taxes on rental value rather than market value.

At this point it is up to the city council and state legislature to keep him on a tolerable path.

People can move out of New York, like my mom did.

Now we’re going to hand over New York to them?

Oh But Don’t Worry. The Big Bad Republicants will go after him.

All we got was 500 square feet of ugly brown stone that’s spalling because it was laid the wrong way.

We were told the family was rich.

The walnut newel post is lovely. No, it’s as fat as Letitia James’ face.

Wealth is in civilized, smart human beings, not in two-legged savage beasts, or stuff.
