The importance for me of international solidarity is that it takes me out of the American political landscape and reminds me just how tame some of the things are that I'm actually calling for. And it reminds me of the necessity of grounding ourselves in struggles as opposed to the fights around the struggles.
For anyone to care about these issues, we have to make them hyper-local. We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, that boot has been laced by the IDF.
We're in a country where those connections abound, especially in New York City, you have so many opportunities to make clear the ways in which that struggle over there is tied to capitalist interests over here.

He wasn’t literally saying that the IDF is causing NYPD “brutality” but his point is just as insidious. He’s making the Alinsky argument - connect local issues to global issues and vice versa to create an effective radical movement. Tie NYPD “brutality” to IDF “brutality” to create alliances with fellow liberal zealots.
Watched the speeches at his rally the other night. Everything is about class and race struggles there is nothing about real issues or solutions.
Really? All the polls show 70%+ Jews in NYC are voting for someone else.

Really? “All” the polls? I’d be thrilled to see what you’re citing because I’ve never seen a poll in this race, nor could I find one on Google, that broke out religion or ethnicity.
But I don’t mean to disbelieve you, because I have seen polls showing native-born New Yorkers being much less supportive of Mamdani than the foreign-born majority.

It’s really sad when Cuomo’s the best you got.
The guy should be in jail, but we’re supposed to be glad he’s not.
