Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy recently reacted to a video that depicts a semi truck driver confronting a fellow truck driver who is going the wrong way through a toll booth in Indiana.
The dash cam video was captured on October 11, 2025, and shared by TWOSU NEWS.
The dash cammer described the incident:
“I was driving west on interstate 90 in Indiana when I watched a semi truck drive the wrong way through the toll booth on 10/11/2025 at 03:30. Fearing he would cause a head on crash, I blocked him to see what the heck he was doing.“
The video was reshared on X.com (formerly Twitter) by Duffy, who said that his team is reaching out to learn more.
“My team has reached out to the trucker who recorded this chilling video. He did the right thing reporting the trucker driving the wrong way to police. This easily could have ended in disaster. Foreign truck drivers not being able to understand the rules of our roads is a crisis that is putting lives in danger. The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is doing the work to fix it and SAVE LIVES!” said Duffy.

Happened October 11, after the Florida uturn crash controversy.
If he goes through the toll booth in the wrong direction, does the tool booth pay him?
The driver had an Indian accent.
Wrong Way Truck Driver speaks:
“In my country, everybody read going from right to left.
I read all signs and complied with all directions. Always!
Work out fine, uhm... until today. What is problem?”

They have a bunch of these.

Well, you cant go to a 7-11 unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking!
When I was managing a sub company for a fortune 100 company, I ran into people all the time who believed that everyone was the same. And that you just hire a bunch of people and they all can do any job. The difference between people could be chalked up to education and opportunity. So Mark Spitz, Marilyn Monroe and Bobby Fischer were all interchangeable. Each could have done what the others did with the right education and opportunities. These misinformed people were often in HR. And they were backed by upper management.
That same logic is why this truck driver was driving an 18 wheeler the wrong way on a US interstate. Because he drove a truck somewhere he could drive a truck here. In fact if he had not driven a truck somewhere else he would get two weeks of training then be given a truck. Driving a truck is hard. And you need a lot of experience. Different weights and sizes, different cabs and highways need to be considered as the trucker makes life and death decisions every moment they are on the road. The total lack of appreciation for ones innate skills and work ethic means that poor HR policy can be just as responsible for killing people as the trucker. And maybe even more so.
Not really related to the topic, but some might appreciate the Border Patrol play set.

I think, they drive on left in India.
That would explain him being confused.
I love to drive, and have driven in all kind of places (some very, very crazy), but I have never attempted to drive in places where they drive on left (Britain and many former British colonies, Japan).
I have been in many of those places, but I have always took bus, train or uber.
Just scares me to death!
Everyone knows Indians read STOP as POTS!
When my parents were in their 70s, they spent a couple of weeks driving a rented car in England and Scotland without any problems. I’ve driven a lot in open-pit mines with left-hand traffic. You get used to it pretty quickly.
Lol!
That's an actual statement made by Joe Biden aka "Potato Head".
Correct—they drive on the left in India.
This is an interesting article listing places where they drive on the left:
I was slightly worried someone might attribute the statement to me. LOL
You would think the driver might have noticed he was on the wrong side of the road a little before the toll booth but maybe he just thought there were a lot of bad drivers out that day.
Spent a week in Singapore - I did not drive. However, had a couple of near misses as a pedestrian failing to look "right-left-right" (instead of "left-right-left")
I have never tried.
I do not plan to do it in the future.
I got almost hit few times just trying to cross the road.
Even being driven is a horror for me.
Maybe I have left hand driving phobia?
How would be Latin name for that condition?
Sinistraperigrinaphobia?
You’re not kidding about crossing the road, though. I was nearly picked off by a taxi in London because I looked the wrong way when starting to cross a street. Works both ways, too; in 1931 Winston Churchill was hit by a car in New York because he looked the wrong way.
