It was founded to reintroduce Christianity to the Anglo-Saxons.

But idiocracy is a real word (though spelled differently).
Ideocracy is “governance of a state according to the principles of a particular (political) ideology; a state or country governed in this way”.
The Soviet Union would have been an ideocracy because it did not permit other ideologies to influence governance.
