Steve Bannon has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn his contempt of Congress conviction that saw the former Trump administration official and War Room host spend four months in prison. Bannon had been subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating January 6, however, the information sought was initially protected under executive privilege. After Trump revoked that privilege, and Bannon was able to respond to the committee, he was indicted and later sentenced.
The petition for a writ of certiorari filed in the nation’s highest court centers around Section 192 of Title 2, which states, "Every person who having been summoned as a witness by the authority of either House of Congress to give testimony or to produce papers upon any matter under inquiry before either House, or any joint committee established by a joint or concurrent resolution of the two Houses of Congress or any committee of either House of Congress, willfully makes default, or who, having appeared, refuses to answer any question pertinent to the question under inquiry, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 nor less than $100 and imprisonment in a common jail for not less than one month nor more than twelve months."

Bannon took a hit for Trump. And very few here appreciate it. So you probably won’t get much positive feed back... Just a lot of hate.
Since Steve Bannon jumped on the anti-Israel train with Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens I’ve had a hard time sympathizing with him. I’ll try because he was definitely wronged in this miscarriage of justice.
True. I hope this gets sorted out by USSC and they don’t punt the case.
No one is perfect. But they should still be appreciated for what good they did do right.
I appreciate that you are not going to let purism dictate your feelings on this. Purism is humanities worst Achilles heel. So many throw the baby out with the bath water based on absolute purism. So many good fighters are thrown under the bus because they are only 99% perfect.
Personally I will take all the positive I can get that makes the bigger picture better. I am not going to let a couple small personal hangups negate the higher percentage of positive coming from someone that benefits everyone.
I have too many “Puritans” in my circle who’d also throw the tub out after the baby. I tell them to get back to me when they see their preferred candidate walk on water, restore sight to the blind and raise the dead.
That’s never appreciated but the message sinks in.
Peter Navarro is conviction also needs to be overturned.
