What in the Benjamin C. Bradlee is going on with The Washington Post editorial board? After shocking the internet by conceding that Obamacare was really just an expensive mess, the newspaper seems to have red-pilled itself hard again.
The Post once again tackled the ongoing political standoff between the GOP and Democrats over the Schumer shutdown, surprisingly chastising liberal lawmakers for being stubborn by continuingly voting down the Republican clean continuing resolution (CR). Then came a jaw-dropping admission from the liberal newspaper: “The government is too big. There is plenty of fat to cut.” But the newspaper even took it a step further: “If the last week has shown anything, it’s that the federal bureaucracy performs too many ‘nonessential’ tasks that do not have a direct bearing on the lives of most citizens.”
Can pigs fly? Are we living in a parallel universe? Are chimpanzees dropping in from the cosmos? The Left will cry "state-run media." Finding this kind of hot take within the pages of one of the most anti-Trump newspapers in circulation is like finding a real conservative on the Nicolle Wallace show.

Amazing.
They will surely change back to normal, because this sounds too sane.
See? Trump’s government is an absolute mess with wasteful spending and fat to cut everywhere! There wasn’t any fat or wasteful spending during the utopian days of the Biden and Obama administrations!
Fascists, all of you!
HHS has the most fat. Totally apart from money to Medicaid and other recipients, there is an amazing amount of fat.
If it is centralized, decentralize. If it is decentralized, centralize. This axiom I learned from Anderson Consulting is still true today.
Arms of HHS are decentralizing for no other reason than the status quo is centralized...and vice versa. They are paying Deloitte, Acenture and hundreds of IT consulting firms to reshape the bureaucracy with no impact on the health of anyone except the IT consulting firms. They are mandating states to do these ridiculous activities also.
a large flight of flying pigs just lifted off ...
The Mrs. recently began working a state job. And I know state and federal employees are essentially the same, with same attitudes. Her #1 complaint is that hardly any work gets done. Multiple people gabbing most of the day, when someone needs something, it’s an inconvenience to them. You could easily cut half the government work force across the spectrum and be fine.
And she’s doing it temporarily so we can pay off some things.
Didn’t they just add three conservative leaning editors?
I live in the Washington suburbs, and I can assure you that the WaPo is still brainwashing thousands of people into Trump Derangement Syndrome, especially the college “educated.”
Surprising admission from WaPo. Back when Trump/Musk were cutting federal jobs and the left was having a hissy fit over it, I commented that they could probably cut 1/3 of the federal workforce and most people wouldn't even notice.
Liberals LOVE their big, sloppy government!
“‘Too Big,’ ‘Plenty of Fat to Cut’”
Does this include Katie Porter?
