The Attorney General of the United States just opened an investigation into the Command Staff of the Portland Police for refusing to enforce the laws over ICE protests in Oregon.
Chicago is next - following the shooting of an armed offender who was involved in a mass ramming of ICE vehicles, this went out over the PDTs:

The President can declare martial law and can take charge of ALL policing to restore order in the face of anarchy.
Pay, benefits, pension. Let Trump deal with it and make sure hey lose nothing.
Btw-the writing is on the wall for NY cops. Every jurisdiction should announce cop openings in the event Mamdani wins. They can quit en masse.
They are obligated to help if they take Federal law enforcement money, which Chicago does.

Heck. . .immediately close **all** Federal Offices in Chicago, and end all in-place Federal funding. .
Cut off all federal funding to Chicago (all federal funding to cities should be cut off, but that’s a different issue).

Go in with the military, fire everyone including all police officers and City employees, and start over.

The city, county and possibly whole state is engages in insurrection. It’s time for Trump to stop talking and take a lesson from Lincoln and use force where force is necessary to establish the supremecy of the federal government. He has many, many tools at his disposal so he needs to stop talking and start acting. Talking tough and acting weak is a killer for future problems.
Pull all federal funding from Chicago. All. Of. It.

The Insurrection Act is the main exception to the Posse Comitatus Act and allows a president to use federal troops and federalize the National Guard for domestic law enforcement under specific circumstances. These conditions include when a state requests assistance to suppress an insurrection, when unlawful obstructions make it impracticable to enforce federal law through normal judicial proceedings, or when necessary to protect constitutional rights against insurrection or domestic violence that state authorities cannot or will not address.
Looks to me like Chi-Town leadership is flirting with a big dose of the salts.
Add to that now, insurrectionists.
