F-47 Fighter: The ‘Stealthiest Aircraft Ever’ That Can Quarterback a Drone Swarm
National Security Journal ^ | 8/29/2025 | Kris Osborn

The U.S. Air Force’s secretive F-47 sixth-generation fighter is a technological marvel designed to counter the growing threat from China. Expected to fly faster than Mach 2, the F-47 will likely be the stealthiest aircraft ever built, featuring a tailless, horizontal design. More than just a fighter, it will act as a “quarterback” for a swarm of AI-enabled drone wingmen. Its advanced sensors and computing will shorten the “sensor-to-shooter” timeline to milliseconds, and it may even be armed with revolutionary laser weapons, ensuring American air dominance for decades to come.

We’ll use cats as pilots, with the brain to hardware interface Musk is working on now.

Cat reflexes can dodge a striking snake.

I have to wonder where the chips came from, who wrote the code, who closed the back doors and how hardened/protected is it against EMP type attacks? Aso - can it fly w/o electricity? I think not. Large scale stealth does not normally equal glide.

https://www.twz.com/air/fpv-drone-motherships-that-also-relay-their-signals-offer-huge-advantages

And be aware motherships could launch multiple relay drones. If one relay drone is taken out, another one can ‘step up to the plate’ if a target drone finds something interesting.

Attack drones might launch a relay drone if their AI finds something really interesting. In that way, the attack drone doesn’t directly emit radio waves.

All of the work that is done leading up to making it real and keeping it ready for use involves technology and training that are meant to be consumed. The product life-cycles of these things are finite and their overall performance data reflect levels of quality in manufacturing and maintenance. I think manned fighters are still relevant, at least because no robot or drone takes the same oath that a fighter pilot does when he joins the service. Where does actual situational awareness leave off and where would artificial awareness begin?

During the Obama administration, somehow China became aware of the identities of Chinese nationals that were spying for the CIA. They were of course liquidated. Ever since there has been a gap in effective CIA operations within China. US ability to learn and sagotage Chinese operations has been severely impaired to the detriment of Americans and the world.

There also the issue of explosive weight.

The small target area drones might carry 5 kilograms.

However, a small drone might give target coordinates to a missile carrying a 2,000 lb. warhead.

Such a heavy warhead would generally only be necessary for fixed targets.

Warships would be an exception, but I think satellite SLAR(?) can reliably detect them.

These aren’t remote control drones you can buy at Amazon.

These drones are almost the size of the fighter aircraft, and carry air-to-air missiles, rockets, guided bombs and even gatling gun 20MM cannons.

They’re meant for air superiority and combat operations air cover.
