Speaking with former CNN host Christ Cuomo on his “The Chris Cuomo Podcast,” veteran journalist Matt Taibbi commented on the “treasonous conspiracy” that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and others in the Trump Administration have exposed, saying that arrests of those Obama officials involved could be coming.
As background, Matt Taibbi is a longtime journalist who first rose to prominence for his reporting on Goldman Sachs’s involvement in the 2008 Great Financial Crisis, exposing the investment bank as a “vampire squid.” He then gained notoriety with his skeptical reporting regarding the “Russiagate” scandal, being one of the few leading journalists at the time to doubt the regime’s stance on what was happening. He left Rolling Stone over the matter, and became an independent journalist.
So, appearing on Chris Cuomo’s podcast in mid-August, Taibbi had the opportunity to comment on the potential that all those figures he once reported on and exposed as liars, and he indicated that arrests of some of the top Obama officials could actually be coming, and they could face the very serious charges they deserve.
Commenting on the matter when speaking with Cuomo, Taibbi said that while he was initially skeptical that this would be more than a “hearts and minds” political publicity event, he has since come around to thinking indictments will actually happen. He said, “I think there are going to be indictments. I was very skeptical on that question, even a couple of weeks ago, but I have heard repeatedly from these folks that they understand that this is not a hearts and minds contest.”
Continuing, Taibbi explained that he has heard from his sources that the goal is dragging the responsible Obama officials into a courtroom, not just publicizing their misdeeds, and that indictments will likely be coming. He said he has been told “that they are not doing this for show, and that if they don’t end up in a courtroom, that they will this will be a massive political failure for them. So I do think that there will be significant indictments.”
Concluding that portion of his commentary on the matter, Taibbi said, “I just don’t know what for. I mean, I think that’s a very important question to ask right now. We know the grant a grand jury has been convened, but they haven’t really given us a strong indication about what crimes they might be investigating.”
Then, after Cuomo noted that such promises and indications have come in the past and not panned out, such as with John Durham, Taibbi explained, “But what I’ve what I’ve heard from these folks, is that they understand how that the optics of that and what that looks like to voters, and they are going to try for, I think, something more substantive, even if it comes up short.”
And, when asked, “Do you think that the Clintons wind up being exposed to prosecution?” Taibbi explained that Hillary Clinton could end up being prosecuted, and is a target of the investigations that are ongoing right now. He began, “I keep being told that.”
He then added that she could face conspiracy charges, saying, “I’m not sure I understand how that can be the case, but I keep being told that Hillary Clinton is actually a target in these investigations. It may turn out that something having to do with her original email situation, uh, will be wrapped into some kind of conspiracy case. But I don’t know what it is . . . I would caution people not to think that there’s anything there yet before we see it.”

IMHO, leave Obama alone, at least as far as any treason or sedition. He was just an actor, a figurehead, completely incapable of further damage on his own. The political cost of bringing a serious criminal charge is not worth the cost/benefit. Tax evasion, maybe, with confiscation of assets, and a restraining order to shut his Fn mouth about everything forever. Something like that.
Ditto Hillary. She is dangerous and capable, but maybe too old and infirm to be a serious risk.
However, anyone under the very top level is fair and open game. I’m all for MAXIMUM (IYKWIM) penalty for Brennan, Clapper, Yates, Rice, Strzok, Schiff et al. All the henchmen and working conspirators, including judges. Supermax or Gitmo for life if they’re lucky and we feel lenient.

Taibbi is what all journalists should aspire to. I know he started out as left leaning, but he’s willing to dig into a story and then follow the facts, no matter if it hurts the Democrats. I respect that.
Should any of these charges stick, expect a statistically unlikely series of fatal ‘medical emergencies’ in the news.
