CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired less than a month on the job.
CNN and The Washington Post and The Hill confirmed Dr. Monarez has been ousted.
Details of Monarez’s departure from the CDC are not immediately available.
The Hill reported:
Susan Monarez, the longtime government scientist recently confirmed as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has been let go from her position after less than a month in the role.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed to The Hill that Monarez is ousted as CDC director. The Senate confirmed her on July 29.
The Washington Post was first to report Monarez’s firing. The Hill has reached out to the Department of Health and Human Services for comment.
Prior to being nominated to lead the CDC, Monarez had served as acting CDC Director shortly after the start of the second Trump administration. She previously served as deputy director at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).

Here’s my take. Something serious from her past has surfaced. Someone went digging through old emails or social media posts and there was a big, stinking turdunken. Either that, or she was shown to have an unacceptable financial arrangement with someone like Pfizer. Perhaps, get our XYZ approved, and we’ll pay off your house. Drug got approved, house got paid off.

It may not be a popular view, but I believe that we do need a CDC. The last few years have been political and awkward at best. However, historically the CDC has played a very important role in disease control.

I wanted Dave Weldon MD (RFK’s first pick.) Weldon is NOT anti-vax, he remains a practicing internist who regularly vaccinates his patients, but he did acknowledge and testify about the concerns of parents over childhood vaccine safety in the 90s.
I am not from Louisiana nor have I ever called a congressional office before, but I called Senator Cassidy’s office…both the one in Louisiana and in DC to express my frustration over his MAHA interference.

With the 51-47 vote in favor of Monarez, she becomes the first CDC director to pass through Senate confirmation under a 2023 law.
HSARPA is divided into 5 main divisions: the Borders and Maritime Security Division, Chemical and Biological Defense Division, Cyber Security Division, Explosives Division, and the Resilient Systems Division.

If we need it, then let a constitutional amendment be passed by the states to create such authority for the federales. This ignoring the clear processes laid out in the constitution, just because... its purpose is to limit runaway government, that’s why they insist it be ignored.
Monarez was reportedly ousted from her position in late August 2025. Sources indicate that her refusal to commit to changing vaccine policy without consulting her advisors was a contributing factor.
