BIG NEWS: The United States of America now owns 10% of Intel, one of our great American technology companies.
This historic agreement strengthens U.S. leadership in semiconductors, which will both grow our economy and help secure America’s technological edge.
Thanks to Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan for striking a deal that’s fair to Intel and fair to the American People.

“Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan”
A good American name..
Just what the Founding Fathers envisioned, right?
Full fascism by our 250th?
Mussolini would understand this well. By the way, the commerce secretary was Epstein’s next-door neighbor for about 15 years during his most active time. Their house and share a wall. Probably just a coincidence.
Are they gonna start hiring Americans?
Lip-Bu Tan was born in Malaysia. He is a US citizen and has a BS in physics from Singapore, MBA from University of SF, and a Masters in Nuclear Engineering from MIT.
And what happens when somebody else wants to start a chip manufacturing company? Think the government would tolerate a direct competitor? That’s the problem with government owned businesses. It’s quite literally the central concept of fascism. The government/corporate partnership.
Also a Christian, very involved in his Presbyterian church.
>> Are they gonna start hiring Americans?
😂🤣😂
No.
Great to see that the United States is now shifting to. Is it crony capitalism or crony socialism as regards to owning stock in private corporations. Of course this is really nothing new.
Only valid if that 10% is on defense contract with the U.S.
Otherwise more unconstitutional federal acts.
The new government bailout program. Great plan! Take a bet by helping a public company and gain ownership. Longterm the American citizens benefit.
I didn’t vote for socialism. Divest as soon as possible.
Bad move - our federal government should not be directly directing private companies or have a direct share in them. We don’t need CCP style, Soviet style, Nazi Germany style “national industrial policies”.
Is this different from bailing out the auto industry in 2008?
What is Trump doing? He condemns the socialist candidate for mayor of New York. He has no problem acting like one in the White House? Or is it fascism he’s now into? And he’s a shakedown artist after he threatens people with deportation and relents for a price.
This is really getting weird.
You sir are an idiot
"Lintel" is another word with INTEL inside:
e.g.
Exodus 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Yes and no. It was clear from the start that the companies would have to restructure through bankruptcy and emerge from bankruptcy paying off the Treasury for the stock options it took in in lieu of the loans the industry got. Ford did not participate in the 2008 federal bailout, it got private financing, but later it secured federal help to shore up its auto loan financing unit, to help maintain the flow of loans to new auto buyers. GM and Chrysler go the most federal interference in their operations due to federal demands for certain operation changes. Ford was interfered with less.
But the stake being taken in Intel does not appear to be a temporary stake to be later paid back by Intel. And the cause of the 10% direct stake is said to be the money Intel is getting from the Chips and Science Act passed by the Biden administration.
The money should have been/should be simply clawed back and the hands out to the chips industry stopped.
The government is the least good place for picking and choosing industrial winners and losers.
