Thus it was that on Sunday's edition of CNN's State of the Union, host Jake Tapper three times mentioned that Russian attacks killed five Ukrainians after President Trump's meeting with Putin ended without a ceasefire.
In his final mention, Tapper said to Mike Pence:
"I'm not blaming it on President Trump,it's obviously President Putin's fault. But, if the ceasefire had happened on Friday, those five Ukrainians would be alive."
Gotcha, Jake. You're not blaming Trump for five dead Ukrainians, but . . . you'll let viewers read between the lines: yeah, it kinda is Trump's fault.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Trump is the only realist in the bunch and this is why we always say Trump doesn’t bluff. The reason why he’s not going hard here is because he has an extremely weak hand. His base doesn’t care a lick about what happens in Ukraine and even those who are all in on Ukraine aren’t willing to cut social security benefits or raise taxes to pay to support their war effort. No one, no one wants US troops in Ukraine to fight Russians and Europe and US blew a huge wad of sanctions and escalatory steps in the first 2 months of the war. Based on that what exactly is Trump going to do? Not to mention Russia has been holding 20-25% of Ukraine for 2 years. The fact that Putin is at the table at all is pretty good. They want Trump to hit them with secondary sanctions in order to prevent Russian oil to get into the hands of Europe, China and India. Europe could stop all on their own you know. Europe can also stop trading with China and India bc without Trump putting sanctions on them but they don’t want to damage relations with those countries because they use those countries in negotiations with US in trade.spare me the it’s all Trumps fault nonsense.
