Since January, Tucker Carlson has been funded by Qatar and has become an opponent of Trump.

Since the beginning of this year, American journalist Tucker Carlson, an icon of media conservatism, has started generating controversy due to a notable "ideological shift." According to various investigations, this is because Carlson is part of a Qatar influence strategy over American media.*
Official documents submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) reveal Qatar's growing influence in strategic sectors of the West, including the academic world, sports, real estate, and now also media, with special emphasis on right-wing sectors.
According to reports, before Trump's victory in the elections, only 10% of Qatari lobbying was directed at conservative media. However, after his win, 50% of lobbying efforts focused on channels such as Fox News, the New York Post, and the Daily Mail.
The goal of that decision is to improve Qatar's image, a country accused of its ties to Hamas and Iran, and to present it as a reliable strategic partner to Washington.
In this context, Tucker Carlson turned out to be one of the clearest examples of this strategy. In March, Carlson conducted an interview with Qatar's Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, which surpassed six million views in just a few hours.
"There is enormous pressure on the United States to participate in a new war against Iran. Qatar's government considers it reckless, so, of course, it is being relentlessly slandered in American media. Qatar's Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, explains it," Carlson said when presenting the interview.
However, what is most striking is the clarification that the American journalist himself wrote in the tweet: "Includes paid partnerships." This demonstrates the Arab influence strategy over certain media outlets and journalists.
Behind that action was the American consulting firm Lumen8 Advisors, hired by the Qatari embassy in Washington. The contract, for 180,000 dollars per month, requires exclusive work with Doha, first-class travel, and total availability. Lumen8 can't collaborate with any other Middle Eastern country without Qatar's direct authorization.
In addition, Tucker Carlson Network (TCN), his new platform after leaving Fox, has as its main investor a powerful Qatari sheikh known for his strong opposition to Trump.
This funding coincides with an editorial shift by Carlson, who now speaks out against any U.S. intervention in the Middle East and criticizes Trump's decisions in the region.
According to Iranian state media, Qatar said that “Persian Gulf states will run out of drinking water in three days if Iran's nuclear sites attacked.”*
Laurie Cardoza-Moore, founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN), has criticized conservative commentator Tucker Carlson following his recent interview with Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. She alleges that Carlson's actions indicate a troubling shift toward antisemitic sentiments and alignment with nations known for controversial stances on Israel.*
In the interview, Sheikh Mohammed warned that an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities could severely contaminate the Gulf's water supply, affecting countries like Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait. He emphasized that such an event would leave the Gulf with "no water, no fish, nothing... no life," urging for diplomatic solutions over military actions.
After President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election, foreign agents working on behalf of the Qatari government appear to have shifted their focus to right-wing media, fueling speculation that the terror-linked Gulf state is attempting to win influence among conservatives.
Between January 1, 2024, and election day, just over 10% of communications sent by Qatari foreign agents to the media were directed to conservative outlets or commenters, according to a Washington Examiner review of Department of Justice records. Since Republicans won control of the White House and Congress on election day, the proportion of messages sent by Qatari operatives to conservative outlets and commenters has surged to more than half of their total correspondence with the media.
Newly revealed DOJ documents show Doha's increasing efforts in right-wing outlets, including Fox News, to promote favorable narratives.*
Qatar's policy of playing both sides caused a crisis in 2017, when President Trump threw his support behind a blockade of Doha by Saudi Arabia...
In his interview with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Aal Thani, published March 8, 2025, Tucker Carlson allows a total whitewash of the worst enemy of America in this century, Qatar. He claims that the attacks on Qatar are motivated by an attempt to drag America into war with Iran. This is a false claim. MEMRI, the foremost critic of Qatar over the years that continues to accuse it of being an enemy of America, and the foremost sponsor of Islamist terrorism (including 9/11), opposes an American attack on Iran....*
On March 7, the podcaster Tucker Carlson released an interview with Qatar's prime minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.*
Tucker Qatarlson is one of the most dishonest persons in America. He doesn’t know what the word “ally” means when he is asked about israel but he knows exactly what it means when it comes to his masters in Qatar. This guy is doing such a damage to President Trump and his Armand achievements.FB
WHY IS TUCKER CARLSON SUDDENLY DEFENDING A U.S. ENEMY LIKE IRAN?June 18, 2025.
A Washington Examiner investigation found that U.S. journalists often published pro-Qatar content shortly after targeted lobbying efforts. One major success was Tucker Carlson’s interview with Qatar’s Prime Minister, which drew over six million views within hours. A new FARA filing reveals Qatar paid to facilitate the interview and provided pre-approved talking points on Iran. The PR campaign was run by Lumen8 Advisors, a U.S. firm paid $180,000 monthly by the Qatari Embassy for strategic consulting. The contract requires 13 days of work per month, mostly in Doha, and bars the firm from working with other Middle Eastern or North African governments without Qatar’s approval.
Tucker being on the payroll of Islamist regimes isn’t hyperbole. It’s fact!*
FARA filing shows Qatar paid to set up Tucker Carlson’s interview with its Prime Minister — complete with pre-approved talking points on Iran.

Great, brave, true post. Kudos.
Question: Is Tucker bitter Trump didn't give him any slot in the govt.?
Disappointing to be sure
☹️😔😦🙁
I wouldn't dismiss this too.
Carlson has always been a hired gun.
He’ll say anything he’s paid to say.
Yea. Big time. During covid he was cool, for the most part. Unless he spoke about his beloved Islamic republic...
You are right
You might think he's brilliant or stupid, insightful or duped, but whatever he says, he believes it to be true.
That's my take on Tucker.
Like George Will who voted for Biden in 2020 and Kamala in 2024. Going his own-—rotten-—way.
No. Absolutely not. This drivel cannot change my mind.
Once your bought, nobody cares what you thought.
Great message
MEMRI?
“Seriesly?”
It was expected that fascist “angelino97” would reply and defend Iran.
Here’s an article about numerous high up officials in the Trump administration who have ties to Qatar. And don’t forget about the plane Trump is taking from them.
