Yay!
yep, sometimes it pays to go last, democraps have little left to gain from redistricting.
When you look at the way these Dem states “redistrict”, I can’t blame the Republicans to do the same. I said before that if the redistricting was done on an area basis and not this cutting through specific areas to get the desired results, the Dems would NEVER hold the House.
That’s why the Dems are going ballistic..................
That’s why the Dems are going ballistic..................
If the districts in every state were actually drawn in honest and fair ways it would be all but impossible for the modern democratic party to ever win House control, given that 85-90% of the counties in the country are republican now. The democrats are so overwhelmingly concentrated in the big cities that occupy so little space.
“The democrats are so overwhelmingly concentrated in the big cities that occupy so little space.”
Representation is based on population, not area.
GOP RINOs do not want to be the majority
they make more money as the minority thru fundraising, whining about Ds, etc and then do nothing once back in power
rinse and repeat
About 45 years ago, one of those east coast lib rags (The Atlantic, New Republic, others, but this was probably in Harper's) wrote a long piece of how the Demagogic Party had manufactured a huge majority for itself in the House of R, and how the Senate (though still skewing D most of the time since 1933) was likely more reflective of the party rank and file breakdown. The manufacturing was accomplished by gerrymandering, and the gerrymandering came about via control of redistricting prior to the first election after the census.
If redistricting was done how it used to be done, the Democrats would have nearly no seats in congress.
Historically districts were drawn regardless of population which resulted in rural areas having nearly all the power over cities.
Republicans have 83% of the counties in the US.
In the 1960’s the Supreme Court established the “one person, one vote” principle, requiring districts to have roughly equal populations.
Prior to that, rural areas held nearly all the power in state delegations.
Yes, like Lindsey and Cornyn. 🤨
Stephen Miller reports:
"20 to 30 of House Democrat seats wouldn't exist but for illegal aliens!"
But President Trump's starting a new Census NOW, with no illegals.
"Let's not forget: Democrats rigged the 2020 Census by including ILLEGAL ALIENS."
"They sued Donald Trump...to include illegal aliens in the Census."
Honestly, if they just made districts reasonable by geography, the same thing would likely happen, which is why the democrats gerrymandered in the first place.
Here’s praying......
Yay!
Republicans should just announce to the press, “We are going to follow the Massachusetts Democratic model” and watch the media squirm.
sometimes you need to fight fire with fire. Rs have been walked all over for decades, and waiting for Ds to do the “fair thing” hasn’t worked out. i know, being in California. so seize the moment, and go for the
seats,all!
