President Trump Welcomes British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Turnberry, Scotland
The Conservative Treehouse - The Last Refuge ^ | July 28, 2025 | Sundance

Earlier this morning President Donald Trump welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Turnberry, Scotland where the two leaders will hold bilateral discussions on trade and foreign affairs.

The video is prompted to 16:20. The bagpipes stop eventually in the video at 19:30. President Trump and Prime Minister Starmer take questions from the assembled press pool. President Trump calls out the British government for rampant illegal immigration, as Starmer tries to say his govt is deporting illegal migrants back to their home country.

Questions centered heavily around the Israeli conflict with Hamas in Gaza. The plight of the Palestinians is a key focus point for the British people; an outcome of the mass Islamic migration that has taken place for the past two-decades in Great Britain. The population of Islamists in the U.K now drives the political priorities.

Toward the end of the video 28:00, President Trump notes the Russia/Ukraine conflict has led to a “disappointment in Vladimir Putin,” and a possibility that President Trump will reduce the 50-day deadline he gave to Russia. WATCH:

The majority of politicians within Great Britain want to expand the conflict with Russia as much as possible and bring the full NATO contingent into the war against Russia.  President Trump has been reluctant to support expanded war as requested by the British, French and German group who formed a “coalition of the willing.”

In addition to London being the Jihad capital of the region, Great Britain is also the home of the Fabian Socialists.

The Dem complained profusely that this "personal" trip would cost the taxpayers $10 million.

Obama spent $85 million tax payer dollars on his Hawaii vacations.

Hope Trump lets him have it on this LIE.

I watched the entire press conference. Trump was amazing. He answered all questions politely and directly.

He was warm and friendly to Trump but seems like a deer in the headlights at times. Trump enjoyed himself. Fun to watch

I find it amusing that Britain still thinks it’s relevant on the world stage.

No disrespect meant to the British people. Great disrespect meant to the ruinous British political class.

The plight of the Palestinians is a key focus point for the British people

Why?

There are other wars happening in the world. Congo?

Why do we treat Britain, France, and Germany as allies? They are repressive oligarchies with the outward appearance of nations with representative governments and civil liberties. In other words, they are not much different than Russia or Iran.

America wouldn’t have any allies if it judged them all based on whether they governed themselves according to the American Constitution.

We allied with the USSR in World War II but we had a common enemy with the Nazis. We fought in Korea to support the regime of Syngman Rhee, who was the lesser of two evils, compared to the Communist regime in North Korea. We supported Sadaam Hussein in the 1980s in his war against the Iranian mullahs.

The three largest European nations, Britain, France, and Germany, have become odious, under anarcho-tyrannical regimes. With the exceptions of Hungary and Slovakia and to some extent Italy and Poland, all of Europe is under the grip of authoritarian, cultural Marxist regimes. Europe's main potential threat is Russia, a country that can't defeat Ukraine after three years of war. If Russia were stronger, an alliance with the British, Germans, and French would be advisable.

Russia still has the world’s largest nuclear arsenal and the UK occupies a strategic position via the GIUK gap (through which Russian nuclear submarines must pass to access the Atlantic) and RAF Flyingdales, which gives early warning for Russian missiles heading for the East coast.

In terms of military assets, the existence of two aircraft carriers means that in a crisis, the UK can step in to free up a US carrier task force in a lesser hotspot if things heated up in the Pacific. UK bases also control access in and out of the Mediteranian via Gibraltar and RAF akhrotiri and these bases could be made available to the US if neccessary as well as the UK providing military support via its own air force.

The British military base in the Falklands is also strategically positioned near Antarctica which is going to be important from the 2040s onward especially as the Antarctic treaty expires and an increasingly powerful China is finally in a position to challenge the US Navy on equal terms (China is building naval ships far more quickly than the USN can keep up with so this surpassing seems inevitable).

In the coming decades, The US is going to need allies more than it has ever done since the Cold War because China is going to be a far more dangerous and powerful rival than the USSR ever was because China is economically literate unlike the Soviet Union.

By comparison, the strategic position of the other countries is irrelevent. (Italy comes closest with its own aircraft carriers and position in the mediterranean but this is still quite local and not global).
