Zohran Mamdani is the firm favorite to win the 2025 New York mayoral race after he declared victory over Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, according to the betting website Polymarket.
As of 6 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Mamdani had a 73.6 percent chance of winning the election in November. He was followed by incumbent Mayor Eric Adams on 19.4 percent, and Cuomo on 4.9 percent.
Newsweek contacted Mamdani, Cuomo and Adams for comment outside of regular workings hours.

Who’s the Republican candidate?
NYC is so screwed.....if those knuckleheads had any sense at all they’d elect Curtis Sliwa.
Curtis Sliwa
I think Curtis Sliwa.
It doesn’t matter......................
if those knuckleheads had any sense at all
Challenge Zohan to a debate on 9/11.
Disconnect between title and content: The only polls cited are old, covering the Dem primary with Cuomo winning.
Curtis Slewa head of the Guardian Angels who wear red berets, Cuomo running as an independent pretty much cements the socialist winning, Cuomo will pull votes from Eric Adam who is also running as an independent
Who’s the Republican candidate?
No Republicans allowed ,LOL
Thanks!
Polymarket is not a Poll. Geebus.
Curtis Sliwa is the Republican candidate who is also running on another party line, which I can’t recall.
Cuomo can run as an independent, but has not stated whether he will or not. With the primary loss, his money dries up, and I think he was only running to springboard to run for president in 2028.
If NYC Republicans fully support Sliwa, he has a good chance to win. In the last election most (like the NY Post) endorsed Adams.
Wow. I did not know it was this bad.
Exactly. Jesus Christ could run as the Republican and NY would still vote for the socialist radical anti-American muslim (or even Barabbas).
It is going to be interesting. In Jeff Childers column today he feels pretty certain that Adams is going to take it
As we read all of the prognostications by the media on this it’s wise to keep in mind that the media is going to do everything they can to elect this jihadist. And that means they’re going to give him fake polls and glowing media coverage
