Book review by Bruce Deitrick Price: The Boy Who Saves The World (thriller)
Renew America ^ | June 9, 2025 | Bruce Deitrick Price

I'm proud to mention that I’m a columnist with Renew America. The editors suggested I provide a review of my new novel.

The problem with reviews, good, bad, long, short, is that each is one person's opinion. Surely I can be more helpful. Here are the first six reviews:

——————————————————————-

“I LOVED IT. It's interesting and fast-paced." —Laurie Endicott Thomas, author of "Not Trivial: How Studying The Traditional Liberal Arts Can Set You Free”

——————————————————————

"A riveting sci-fi thriller that delves into artificial intelligence, government surveillance, and the nature of free will. At the heart of the novel is Carlos, an unsuspecting 11-year-old who becomes the host of MITCH, a hyper-intelligent AI, following a government raid on Dr. Newman’s clandestine laboratory. As the AI tightens its grip…

Price’s writing is urgent, cinematic, and unrelenting. The narrative unfolds in rapid bursts; short, impactful sentences drive the tension forward, while swift shifts in perspective heighten the sense of chaos. The relentless media frenzy and conflicting public narratives reflect the modern era’s struggles with misinformation and mass hysteria.” —Literary Titan

If your writing is so phenomenal, why don’t you post the whole piece here??

Sorry, I forgot that this site wants to keep people on the site. And the reviews, being very positive, might seem like showing off.

Ahhh, I remember the good old days when wintertime was my most savage critic. I thought public schools could be improved. Wintertime said, burn them to the ground.

I have to confess that, despite my best efforts, I am still a poor writer.

And....Then salt the earth, too! :-) Just kidding! I think they would make great assisted living centers.

I completely support your philosophy regarding the education of children... but I doubt these reforms can be accomplished within our system of government monopoly schools. Attempting to reform these schools is like throwing a grape at the moon and hoping it will land there.

If K-12 schooling was privatized, (supported by vouchers and private scholarships), I believe we would quickly see reading, math, science, and social studies scores immediately improve.
