When it comes to sharing his opinions on pretty much any topic, Steve Bannon has never been shy, and today, in defense of his good friend, Donald J. Trump, Bannon eviscerated the world’s wealthiest man, calling him ‘incompetent,” and suggesting Musk had no business receiving the kind of trust or praise Trump bestowed upon him.
Today, while speaking with two of his co-hosts, former US Congressman Dave Brat and social media personality Jack Posbiec, Steve Bannon appeared to have had enough of the very public feud between Elon Musk and President Trump and mercilessly unloaded on Musk.
“Elon Musk is working for himself,” Bannon told his co-hosts. The outspoken War Room icon explained, “President Trump empowered him more than anyone’s ever been empowered in this government! He [President Trump] had his back. Promoted this guy. And when people like me, who said, ‘You’re making a mistake! This is a bad guy! He’s gonna turn on you! He’s not with us. He’s also totally incompetent!’ And when President Trump said, ‘Hey, give this guy a shot!’ and I trust President Trump‘s judgment,” Bannon said and explained how he backed off “a little.” Bannon explained to his audience that as soon as Elon didn’t think he was running things or didn’t “get the adoration,” he “turned” on President Trump. But according to Bannon, Musk didn’t just turn on President Trump, “He [Musk] turned on the country—on the American people—and President Trump has had enough of it!”

Jealousy is a big green monster.

There’s a Trump/Musk cult?
Bannon always rocks.
Elon and DOGE did a lot of good for the US taxpayer, but that does not qualify him to be the Assistant President.
This is just a good kerfuffle. The overarching aims are still in sync.
No. Not anymore. It’ll morph separately into a Trump Cult and a Musk Cult.
I don’t care for either of them. Nor the Democraps for that matter. Oh well.
Just toasting marshmallows and watching the internecine civil war fun and everything, include that damn bill, just implode.
Steve has been waiting since last Christmastime to Gloat, good , long and loud.
Jury is still out on whether this friction between Trump and Elon is real of some level of performance art. I know the president is capable of acting as such, just to cast a distraction and an illusion. Elon, I’m not so sure.
Elon Musk is not someone I would want to change into the next
Tony Scaramucci, forever bitter, humiliated and out for vengance.
“but that does not qualify him to be the Assistant President.”
Excellent observation. I caught that too.
Bannon has despised Musk for years. Never trusted him.
Are you part of the Bannon cult of the Romney cult? What exactly do you believe in?
Steve called this and he is correct Trump literally gave Elon a non senate approved cabinet post now Wlon thinks he runs the Republican Party. Elon has every right to oppose the bill but have him and Thomas massie propose a bill that would pass a two seat majority in the the house and see how it goes.
I was really afraid all along that Elon Musk was exactly the sort of unstable, disloyal person to stab President Trump in the back, and here we are. I wrote this on a FR thread (https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/4288263/posts?page=24#24) on January 5—the signs of Elon’s betrayals were already there before Trump even took office:
“I don’t know about how Elon’s been acting lately. He sparked a little civil war (or two) in the Republican Party. He’s trying to get a new hand-picked leader installed in the British Reform Party, hurting the chances of Nigel Farage, who surely is the best bet the Brits have of actually getting a Trumpian figure in as Prime Minister. I heard too that he’s really been blowing up the political scene in Germany recently.
“Once a ‘free speech absolutist,’ he’s also now pushing what Steve Bannon is calling a Chinese-style social credit score algorithm on Twitter. Various people critical of him have been censored on Twitter. He’s really been flexing his muscles on so many fronts. He almost got Speaker Johnson ousted, and sadly he’s gotten a lot of devout America First types upset not only with him but also with Trump.
“Is Elon Musk the most powerful person on Earth? I’m glad he’s (more or less) on our side, but I still find this a little disturbing. I lean in the populist direction and would prefer the little people to be left to work things out, rather than have rule by the world’s richest man. God help us if he ever turns against Trump like he’s doing to Farage.”
“There’s a Trump/Musk cult?”
Have you been gone from here for awhile?
Excellent vision and call...
“Us”? Nobody elected Bannon to anything. He was booted from the first Trump Administration, and hasn’t been asked back.
Great foresight!
Bannon is the best. 100 Pro Israel also. But Norfolk giving away aid.
The globalist cult.
Nope. I’ve seen evidence for a cult of Trump haters but little evidence for a Trump/Musk cult. In fact, based on the comments I’ve seen today, few people are having a difficult time choosing a side in the feud. Some are siding with Trump and some are siding with Musk, but few are showing signs of being conflicted. That’s because there never was a Trump/Musk cult.
