The New York Times published a hard-hitting report, Sunday, laying out the ways in which President Donald Trump has monetized his office. But the Gray Lady didn’t exactly let Democrats off the hook Sunday — as they also ran a devastating feature on the party’s efforts to win back young male voters.
In the piece — written by national political correspondent Shane Goldmacher — some brutal details were reported about the Democratic party’s efforts to bring young men back into the fold.
“Democratic donors and strategists have been gathering at luxury hotels to discuss how to win back working-class voters, commissioning new projects that can read like anthropological studies of people from faraway places,” Goldmacher wrote. “The prospectus for one new $20 million effort, obtained by The Times, aims to reverse the erosion of Democratic support among young men, especially online. It is code-named SAM — short for ‘Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan’ — and promises investment to ‘study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces.’ It recommends buying advertisements in video games, among other things.” The party’s approval rating has been measured at historical lows — with one recent NBC News poll finding just 27 percent of Americans approve of the party at the moment. Internally, a messy power struggle has played out in full view — as the DNC voided the election which made outspoken activist David Hogg a vice chair. The DNC ruled the election had not followed proper parliamentary procedures, but Hogg suggested the party had ulterior motives for ousting him — given that he was openly plotting to primary some incumbents. In a statement, Hogg said it is “impossible to ignore the broader context of my work to reform the party, which loomed large over this vote.”

An excellent idea. What the gaming industry needs most is more Woke - just ask Ubisoft. Who just had to sell a major interest in their flagship line to the Chinese firm Tencent.
They can start by not spending our money on luxury hotels.
