I don't like it.

Tubberville is one of the few good ones in the Senate. Would hate to lose him.

This will put the midterms in complete jeopardy! This happened during Trump’s first term. Republicans quit or ran for governorships.

Terrible decision. We need this man in the Senate. Unless he is just fed up with being sidelined by Thune & Co.

I suppose this is an example of the being a little fish in a big pond vs. being a big fish in a little pond dilemma.

We need him in the Senate. He has become my favorite Senator. The country needs him in the Senate more than Alabama needs him in the Governor’s office.

Of course, it could also be that he's disgusted with the people he has to work with in Washington. I know I couldn't stand it.

Yeh, I was thinking the same thing. He’s a great senator.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.

The tongue-in-cheek question is will Alabama fans vote for a former Auburn HC as governor? It’s one thing to send him to DC, it’s another thing to have him in Montgomery.

Yes, Grammaw is term limited... and even if she wasn’t, it would be a hard sell to put her in front of the voters again due to her age.

Expect Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth (R) to run for Tuberville’s senate post.

Or just retired young surprisingly. Last time in 2018 it was the house they chose to hand to the democrats to stop Trump, this time maybe it's the Senate. And I am quite certain that it was intentional last time and if they do it again that proves it.

The only way Tuberville could lose would be if Nick Saban runs against him as a Democrat... but Saban isn’t living in the state, so he’s actually not eligible.

We need a strong governor, one with backbone and can talk in public and not be the granny in the crowd. I voted for her in the general election just to keep a dim out. But she is weak. I would hate to lose Tubbs in the Senate. Don’t know who would run for the senate. Maybe our AG might. He’s pretty good.

Yup, two and gone. She could run a fam member like Wallace did with his wife, but hell she is old.

My thought exactly.

This article yesterday actually listed him as (R-Auburn)

As well, if he is doing a good job in the Senate, you are right that it would be a shame to loose him. The south produces a lot of squishy Pub Senators——those are the sorts of people I would rather see in the Governor’s mansion. Maybe Linda would like to be governor of S.C.?
