The Third Opium War Just Ended—And China Lost Again: Incoming Depth Charge From Johnny
The Depth Charge ^ | May 14, 2025 | Johnny Depth

Posted on 05/14/2025 8:38:32 AM PDT by appeal2

The First Opium War ended with China surrendering Hong Kong. The Second ended with China surrendering its dignity. Now, nearly two centuries later, the Third Opium War has just ended—and once again, China lost. But this time, they weren’t importing opium. They were exporting it.

The Modern Opium: Fentanyl

No sails. No gunboats. No treaties. Just chemicals—sent in barrels and disguised in powders—feeding a synthetic addiction that’s killed more Americans than all our wars combined. China didn’t need to invade. They simply flooded our streets. - Synthetic precursors shipped to Mexican cartels - Distribution routes subsidized by “strategic partnerships” - Political cover behind every denial and delay And for a while, it worked. America rotted from the inside while China profited from death...

Nonsense. What makes Johnny "Depth" think Trump just stopped China from exporting fentanyl precursors to Mexico? Controlling a substance with that concentrated power of a fatal dose measured in micrograms is impossible without total control of every transaction.

Without dealing with the damages wrought by public education, social media, and "entertainment," no amount of government control will ever halt the user from seeking relief from the contortions of noise.

I like his writing. Am happy to get a the link, but don’t read every one. I only read those who’s subject strikes an interest. We all have a choice to not click.

When in doubt attack the messenger. We will know in 90 days so it won’t be long. In the meantime, fire away, just buy my next book. Guaranteed you will love it.

---- "When in doubt attack the messenger."

It's not an attack to identify who sells what. In this case, and courtesy of your response --

"... just buy my next book. Guaranteed you will love it."
Would that be a "money back if not satisfied" guarantee?

That’s the only way I know how to roll. If you don’t find value, I don’t want your money. It’s the libertarian way. Seriously check out Kerry’s Martin Armstrong Book. I think you’ll like it and if not he will definitely give you your money back. Just like I am happy for the opposing view points. Unlike the left, we don’t live within our narratives, we are always open to being tested and challenged, because, hey I can wrong and if I am I need to know it. Right?

Nah. This isn’t going to accomplish anything. A little “surcharge” because they’re part of the supply chain won’t effect them at all. Keep in mind fentanyl is, as has been for decades, a legitimate prescription drug. Literally every pharmaceutical company on the planet makes fentanyl, and fentanyl ingredients. The only thing that’s really going on here is a lot of stuff is going out the side door instead of the loading doc. If somehow China were to stop sending the stuff out the side door, somebody else would, heck they probably already are.

No narrative. Just information from your FR link and comments.

You flogged the Kerry Lutz blog often until your last entry of 10-02-2023.

After hiatus, you then began 5/9/2025 and daily thereafter to flog "Johnny Depth" six times in a row.

And then informed your intention with "... just buy my next book."

No narrative there. Just recapping your opus here on Free Repubic.

This is Free Republic.

If it is a blog, post the entire content of the blog post in question, or do not post it.

That way you cannot be accused of “blog pimping”. And you don’t wish to be accused of that, do you?

I fully agree with posting well known blogs with a national following here. No problem with that.

If humans want to kill themselves with drugs, legal or illegal, not much can be done to stop it.

USA prohibition failed, remember?

That said, two things:
1) All costs for the ill effects of their addiction should be on the user and perhaps their family.
2) I see nothing wrong with attempting, within reason, to staunch the flow of drugs into the Republic.

No problem. We went through an extended period for years where we were inundated with blogs that were being pimped, and it got quite heated to the point there was little discussion of the blog content, and lots of blog-pimp discussion, which I find tiresome, as did many.

The best way to avoid it is to simply post the entire thing. If people find it compelling, they will navigate to the blog on their own (instead of being required to do it because only a small portion of the content is posted which forces them to navigate there. Which of course, generates revenue, which many people resent using FR as a vehicle to do that.)

If you don't do it, we won't be able to discuss issues like this as I will below, because all the conversation will go back to blog-pimping. Here is what we all (including you, I hope) would like to have as the content of the thread instead:

DISCUSSION:
I have found this subject interesting over the past ten years or so, because of the historic aspect of Communist China (an Asian shame culture with a "proud" history) in which it malevolently gets to inflict on its historical tormenters what "we" did to them, all while denying it with a straight face.

They no doubt have gotten a great deal of satisfaction from this deniable (in their eyes) form of nationalistic "revenge".

When we complain, they solemnly say with a straight face for the cameras that this accusation is unfounded, while off-camera, give us the double middle finger and grin widely.

Trump is forcing it to the table, and I give him substantial credit for doing so. And while we are at the table, we can discuss

Trump has forced them to the table, even though he has lowered the tariffs on them. That is a huge win. Because otherwise, they will continually and joyfully flip us the double middle finger if they aren't forced to do otherwise.

Force is the only thing they understand.

Absolutely. From what I know of it, Fentanyl is a manufactured drug that takes more manufacturing ability to produce than making crack or meth in a bathtub.

In Mexico, if they give the cartel the precursors and space to build a factory to produce Fentanyl, they don’t need permits from the government, hush money to the politicians, or protection from the police.

They can get the precursors from China (and do) build a great big laboratory/factory to produce Fentanyl, and the cartels will distribute it across the border.

At least make Mexico get the Fentanyl precursors themselves, not easily get it from China which we are at war with, and is more than willing to give the precursors away for free to conduct war, but no doubt, get payment for them.

Then, we can turn up the heat on Mexico.

You realize the same can be said about every non-vanity article posted on FR, right?
