Trump is going to own CBS before this is over

Some people just have to learn the hard way. Then there are people who just never learn.

On October 6, 2024, 60 MINUTES broadcast an interview with Kamala Harris. Harris's response to a question about Israel from Bill Whitaker raised eyebrows, particularly those of Donald Trump.  Trump demanded to see the unedited transcript and after a battle the transcript was released. It clearly showed that the broadcast interview had been edited in Harris's favor.

The lawsuit stems from an exchange Harris had with “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker, who asked her why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t “listening” to the Biden administration.

Harris was widely mocked for the “word salad” answer that aired in a preview clip of the interview on “Face the Nation.”

However, when Whitaker asked the same question during the primetime special, Harris had a different, more concise response. Critics at the time accused CBS News of editing Harris’s “word salad” answer to shield the then-vice president from further backlash leading up to Election Day.

It made Harris less scatter-brained than she is.

Trump launched a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS and Paramount Global (which was later raised to $20 billion) for election interference. Recently this edited, biased piece has been nominated for a Grammy.

Scott Pelley is a jackass. Nearly eight years ago I said he was "The worst politically biased hack in the news today." A couple of months ago I said "CBS has been reduced to complete propagandism consequent to its losing battle against Trump."

Now Pelley has gone totally off the rails. On Sunday, 60 Minutes broadcast a segment called "The Rule of Law." It was described this way by CBS: "In recent weeks, President Trump has signed orders targeting several law firms. Some lawyers warn that the president's assault on the legal profession threatens the rule of law itself."

Scott Pelley nearly cried introducing the segment, saying "It was nearly impossible to get anyone on camera for this story... Marc Elias... is the only lawyer the President has named who was willing to appear on 60 Minutes." As for Elias, he portrayed himself as the victim

"Donald Trump hates me because I fight hard and I fight for fair and free elections."
There was something 60 Minutes left out of the segment. Grok:

Marc Elias, a prominent Democratic election lawyer, was a partner at Perkins Coie, a law firm representing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Through Perkins Coie, Elias engaged Fusion GPS, a research firm, to conduct opposition research on Donald Trump. Fusion GPS, funded by Perkins Coie via Elias’s direction, hired Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer, to compile the "Steele dossier," a collection of unverified reports alleging ties between Trump and Russia. Payments for this work, totaling $1.02 million from Perkins Coie to Fusion GPS, were not initially disclosed as campaign expenditures, leading to scrutiny. In 2017, Elias denied knowing Steele’s identity or the dossier’s specifics until it was published by BuzzFeed. The dossier’s credibility has been widely questioned, and Elias’s role has drawn criticism for his involvement in its funding and dissemination. He left Perkins Coie in 2021 to start his own firm, Elias Law Group.

60 Minutes also omitted Elias's being sanctioned. Grok:

Marc Elias has been sanctioned for unethical conduct once, based on available information. In March 2021, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sanctioned Elias and other Perkins Coie lawyers for a "redundant and misleading" motion in a Texas voting case, citing a lack of candor for failing to disclose a previously denied motion. The sanctions were upheld in June 2021, and a reconsideration request was denied in December 2021.

Elias served as general counsel for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.

The fact that Elias tried to undermine the 2016 election just might have something to do with any possible Trump animus. Bill O-Reilly had this to say about Elias:

Just watched another anti-Trump hit piece on 60 Minutes. Without debating the merits of President Trump using his power to punish law firms he doesn't like, I will report that CBS correspondent Scott Pelley glorified a lawyer named Marc Elias who worked for the Clinton campaign in 2016 and was up to his eyeballs in the phony Russian collusion story.  Somehow, Scott failed to mention that.  He also did not feature one pro-Trump lawyer but used three attorneys critical of the President. This is wrong and 60 Minutes has to know it.  Again, I am not litigating this.  Trump may be wrong.  But CBS News once again did not present the full story in their jihad against Donald Trump.  Shame on them.

Now Elias is whining that Trump is undermining the rule of law. How so?

CBS should be using the word Nooz.

And their reporters should refer to themselves as Urinolists, for peeing on the truth.
