After President Trump flies halfway around the world to pay his respects to Pope Francis he gets lectured by the Cardinal about not letting enough foreigners into America. His theme was about building bridges rather than walls and the usual Social Justice Marxist dialogue along with inclusion and stopping wars. Apparently, the Catholic church has not heard about, He who is without sin cast the first stone. Perhaps the Church should take the plank out of its own eye before it lectures Trump about the sliver in his?

When the Church gets into politics it not only is it treading on ground it does not belong, but it also opens itself up to the same criticism any other politician is subject to since it becomes secular. When it agrees with the secular humanists and prefers one country or political philosophy over another such as Communism it is no longer a religious institution but a machine for the Globalists. In this case they were burying someone who long ago left the Bible and God’s word but was a hardcore Communist by his own admission.

This is the ultimate in hypocrisy when you hide behind your robes and religious status to not only attack a leader of a country but know you cannot be attacked back. Of course, the Communist European establishment are going to uphold the façade of holiness of the Vatican, but there is nothing holy about forcing a population to accept tens of millions of the downtrodden with no way to pay for it. If he is so concerned then he can dip into his billions and send it to his American churches to feed, clothe, educate, and care for them yet that was not part of his homily.

He would rather use that money to defend priests from their homosexual abuses which occur inside the church using the same tactic of hiding behind robes and sacraments. The Catholic Church has so many sins against it he could spend a month of homilies on how to make the Church more like Christ and Paul or how it will follow the Ten Commandments, but no; he has to spend the funeral bashing Trump and Virtue Grandstanding to his European leaders. There was no Make Catechism Great Again speech in this bromide, just America is sinning and needs to stop. T he last people who should be lecturing America is the Vatican. When they free their next slave will be their first since they have been collaborators with every dictator since Hitler and is rumored to help them escape justice at the end of the war. They were no help to any souls trapped behind Soviet walls whether it be Eastern Europe, Cuba, Venezuela, China, or every other tin pot dictator. The only Pope who actually fought for freedom was John Paul while this one cooperated with every Communist dictator around the globe. And then they have the nerve to call out America?

Having attended a Catholic church for over eight years when we were first married, it is a beautiful service with some wonderful people attending. The issue for myself was it was two vanilla with the usual, love your brother as yourself quick homily. There is nothing wrong with the message, but you always felt lacking since the world has so many problems the same message with no meat and potatoes seems meager. It began to feel like drive thru Christianity for drive thru Christians.

His criticism reflected that lack of spiritual fortitude when the entire world is in chaos, he simply wants to repeat the cliché build bridges not walls. How about tearing down the walls around China, Cuba, and North Korea as well as Russia and free your people rather than sending them to America. It is such a weak message to ignore issues like secular humanism, atheism, paganism, and indoctrination rather than freedom which is what Christianity stands for. No, it is easier to say Trump is Hitler then to address real issues while repeating a phrase which means nothing.

So Vatican, once you remove that telephone pole from your eye and apologize for all the lives you have destroyed save the mentioning of splinters in America’s eye. Until you free one tenth as many people from oppression as America you can save your bridge lectures for yourselves. Until you take a good look in the mirror before criticizing others when your own spiritual scars are visible to everyone but yourselves.

The Vatican is the ultimate glass house and everyone knows what they say about that. How about you build a bridge to Donald Trump and his seventy million Americans who you want to pay for your generosity. President Trump was the one displaying what it is to be a Christian and the Vatican displayed just the opposite.

I did not hear the homily, but I'll take your word for it. I've heard a marxist homily at almost every Catholic service or funeral I've been a guest at in the past 30 years. I'm voluntarily (not raised) Lutheran-LCMS, the orthodox branch, because I agree with Martin Luther's point(s).
