If anyone thought crushing the crime gangs was easy, they'd better think again.
This video gives a historical account of crime violence in El Salvador and the attempts by different El Salvador governments to destroy the gangs, which all failed until Bukele came along.
Bukele is much tougher and smarter than you think.
Another point of interest is Bukele is Palestinian, his dad moved to El Salvador from Palestine and built businesses there including a MacDonald's chain.
Nayib Bukele was born in in San Salvador. His father had 6 ”wives” apparently
Mexico could learn a lesson or two.
Worth watching.

How El Salvador Army DESTROYED Their Brutal Gangs
Six wives are likely no problem. Six mothers-in-law…….poor bastard indeed.
The cartels are a far bigger problem and won’t be defeated as easily.
bkmk El Salvador
Its kinda like the US border.
Biden couldn’t fix it in 4 years.
Took Trump just 2 months to crush it.
How long did it take us to crush the strongest military in the Middle East? Just a few days.
Bukele himself is a Christian.
The gangs previously controlled the country. Judges, cops, prison guards did not dare confront them, they know where you live and where your kids go to school… and politicians were in league with them. Over the years they had killed over a hundred thousand people in a country the size of New Jersey. More than the previous civil war.
So beating them took several steps. First, winning a substantial majority in congress. Second, getting a state of emergency passed through Congress which established the gangs as terrorist organizations; mere membership would get you from 20 years to life. He replaced many judges and threatened the rest with arrest if they protected the gangs. They built a prison specifically for the gangs which isolated them from the outside world, so they couldn’t threaten anyone from inside. And then they just rounded them up.
Until the feminazi movement men were the masters of the home. That is why it worked in some places.
Read the Bible, it’s full of polygamy.
“The Bible says no man can serve two masters.”
Wut? So your wife is your master?
Disgusting. A guaranteed life of misery. No man puts a woman over him. -That’s in the bible too.
This.
Now the US has the same problem.
The wives are the least problematic. It’s the multi mother in law syndrome.
True. But that's Old Testament. In the NT, I can't think of a place where it explicitly states if it's wrong to do polygamy. But Paul's forbids polygamy among deacons in 1 Timothy 3:12: "Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households." With the forbidding of polygamy among church leaders, it may safe to say that the NT at least discourages polygamy among non-leaders too.
Offhand, I can't think of a single example of polygamy in the Bible that sounds like an endorsement of the practice.
We have too many squishy people in the US to suspend the Constitution in order to stop the violence.
We could absolutely crush the cartels.
The issue would be that they would resort to US hostage taking.
Any given day there are probably hundreds of thousands of US citizens in Mexico on business or vacation. Think of how many teenage daughters are down there on Spring break right now.
So, there would have to be travel restrictions of US citizens similar to Columbia in the 1980s.
It's definitely doable. We did it in my old north Houston neighborhood with very little help from the law. It takes cooperation from the property owners. But, on a big scale, you will have too many people who will passively support gang activity. This is what makes it hard.
The Bible is also full of murder.
