I was curious to see which TikTokker had the weirdest take on the death of Pope Francis. Although I did see a bunch of strange takes including a 900 year prophecy claiming his death would spark Armageddon, the observation connecting the Pope's death with Mississippi vampires is, if not the weirdest take, definitely the most creative one.

I sort of understand this weird obsession with Vampires because when Your Humble Correspondent was about 10 years old I too was obsessed with them. In fact I would spend HOURS discussing all aspects surrounding vampires with my young friends such as which were the best methods for warding off vampires and whether you needed a pure silver or just a silver plated stake in the heart to kill a vampire. We even discussed pros and cons about becoming a vampire such as being able to live forever but with the downside you had to crawl back to your coffin before daybreak. And then a few years later when I discovered girls, my previous obsession with vampires completely disappeared. Apparently, however, among some adults this vampire obsession never goes away such as with this TikTokker. Oh, and also with the producers of a movie in which the Civil War was really all about hunting vampires.

I really liked the book Fevre Dream, by George R. R. Martin, about vampires in the old steamboating days on the Mississippi.

Oh, and another factor causing me to ditch any interest in vampires is I suddenly realized that vampires seemed very gay. I mean biting another man’s neck. What’s wrong with that picture?

As someone who grew up watching Hammer vampire movies and dubbed Mexican vampire movies (they are great) on shows like Shock Theater and Creature Feature, I was always attracted to the ladies in vampire movies. Guess that makes me an early bloomer.

I had a grandmother who was actually born in Transylvania. Sometimes when visiting her, she would suddenly yank out her false teeth and attack me with them. Scared the hell out of me.

I've drove through Transylvania a few times on my way to Florida.

The PBS version of Dracula starring Louis Jordan is still the best, IMO
( but George Hamilton was the funniest. “Children of the night! SHUT UP!”)
😁
Christopher Lee is simply a given.

Well, vampires of either sex will bite anyone of either sex, so I don’t really see it as a gay thing. No, most vampire stuff is just silly. Fevre Dream happened to be a good story by a good writer.

I think that guy has been watching too much Supernatural.

Especially when Richard Benjamin (Rosenberg) shot him with a silver bullet.
And don’t forget Blacula, blaxploitation at it’s best??
To: BipolarBob
At night do they shine a spotlight on it to summon the dark knight?
To: Waverunner
I wouldn’t know. I’d never go to Louisiana after dark.

I know!!!
Good ol days!
Don’t miss Zoltan: Hound of Dracula.
It features a Doberman with fake vampire teeth and they rubbed corn starch all over him to make him look undead.
(Hamilton shape shifted into a Doberman too. Hmmmm)

That was just to lick Susan St James, but who wouldn’t want to be an Amazing Doberman. The good old days, when dogs robbed banks and became vampires. Don’t even start on Williard and Ben, when rats weren’t a political force.

And for a joke in passing.
Pope Francis arrives in Heaven on Easter.
Saint Peter says to him. We’ve been waiting since Friday.
Pope Francis smacks his forehead. “dohh”
To: Waverunner
You have no idea how on top of my “movie life” you are.
