Any good accountant knows that when the organization pushes back against an audit they are hiding something.

(Leftist) Harvard University professors are suing to block the Trump administration’s review of nearly $9 billion in federal contracts and grants awarded to the Ivy League school.

The review is part of the government’s crackdown on what it says is antisemitism on college campuses.

What part of the phrase “federal funds” is unclear to them?

I believe the governing body of Harvard is called the “Harvard Corporation.” Individual professors should not have standing; I would think there’s no privity of contract between the feds and the individual professors to support a cause for action

$9,000,000,000.00 in taxpayer money to just one super-elitist college?

This is insanity!
Wind down the existing grants ASAP and only give new ones for necessary national defense or legitimate medical research. and require Harvard to clean up its stinking commie-nazi-islamic bullkrap, too!

that’s OUR money, damnit!

“What part of the phrase “federal funds” is unclear to them?”

Yes, and even worse that the money is confiscated from us taxpayers and put on the debt of which we pay again and again forever. The only thing the feds are excellent at is redistribution of our wealth.

What are they hiding? Probably mind boggling amounts of leftist deeds. I would not be surprised if it was found that they were funding HAMAS.

It takes a long time to find all the receipts for walking around money. And any hanky-panky should be called out in previous audit reports that go along with the annual 990. Maybe the auditors have reason to be worried as well.

Harvard liked the liquidity of the type of bank they put the money in. Could remove cash with no messy digital records.

RE: ...Harvard has tens of BILLIONS in endowments.

$53 Billion after the 9.6% gain on investment value last year.

But who’s counting?

And for current expenses, this pittance may help a little:

Harvard University received $686 million from federal agencies last year.

Families are happy to kick in the basics——
“The total estimated cost for a four-year undergraduate degree at Harvard University is around $346,820. This includes annual tuition, fees, room and board, and other expenses. The annual cost of attendance ranges from $82,950 to $91,166.”

From Harvard University Financial Administration website:

Harvard must fund nearly two-thirds of its operating expenses ($6.4 billio in fiscal year 2024) from other sources, such as federal and non-federal research grants, student tuition and fees, and gifts from alumni, parents, and friends.

All you need to know is that Harvard happily accepted billions from Osama bin Laden and family, but refused funds from non-leftist American businessmen as inherently corrupting.

Why does a private sectarian university with a multi-billion dollar endowment get any federal money at all?

No more welfare for the rich, please.
