Mark Camilleri, a Canadian lawyer who is special European Union adviser to the Business Council of Canada and the president and CEO of the Canada EU Trade and Investment Association, says maintaining most of Canada’s exports to the United States ‘keeps Canada vulnerable’ given the continued tariff uncertainty, adding that the EU is a reliable partner for the country.

Good luck canada... (your going to need it)
Maybe china will buy their stuff.
remember Canada...shipping your garbage products to these United States of America is much cheaper than shipping them to other shores. but you can decide that for yourselves.
“EU is a reliable partner....”
WOW, that the funniest thing I’ve heard since the media claimed Biden was mentally as sharp as a tack.
Tic-Tac maybe.
I got news for Canada, the major auto exporting countries of Japan, Germany, and China are not going to manufacture in Canada to sell to Europe or to the far east.
I bet Canadian politicians and business people are feeling really stupid now that they got themselves in this position and they’re gonna lose it all.
Yes Canada, rebalance your trade. And Europe would never ever ever charge tariffs.
Way back in the day, I was taught that all of this tariff stuff would be averaged out at the end of the day by the “Invisible Hand”.
Now it seems like Trump is The Invisible Hand’s helper, Yugely.
In trade, it’s good not to put all your eggs in one basket.
But there’s no point in crying over spilt milk.
(bear with me, I’m new to tariff jokes)
Is the U.S. still monetarily subsidizing Canada?
“adding that the EU is a reliable partner for the country.”
why? ... does Europe levy lower tariffs on canadian goods than U.S. goods? ... does canada levy lower tariffs on European foodstuffs than U.S. foodstuffs?
Maybe Canada should just import more Chinese and Indians …that should help
Pretty hard to sell electricity to Europe or China. Not cheap to ship lumber.
The anti American sentiment in Canada will no doubt depress US tourism.
Loooong before President Trump, Canada had 200-300% tariffs on some USA products. Milk, eggs, poultry, etc.
So......Canada....too bad.
When the EU formed in 1957, they claimed that their combined GDP would surpass the US in 50 years. The closest they ever came was 1/3 of the US GDP. Canada really can’t count on the EU to bail them out.
