It is interesting to think that some of the holidays we celebrate in the Western World, with so much frivolity and lightheartedness, have gritty, deep, meaningful life stories behind them, to the degree that if the spirit behind them was examined with a level of inquisitiveness, seriousness, care, and regard, the examples radiating from them would in turn change people’s hearts, minds, and lives for the better, particularly in ways where overcoming hardships, adversity, and a myriad of difficulties are paramount and only possible due to God stepping in, calibrating their hearts and minds to His will, and overcoming what would otherwise be, from a human standpoint anyway, anything that would be too big to overcome on one’s own strength. Such is the subject of a groundbreakingly, well-done docudrama called “I Am Patrick: The Patron Saint of Ireland”.
“I Am Patrick” is a film that is part of a vast line of high-quality documentaries produced by CBN Films. It not only tells the story of a man, but does a remarkable job putting into focus the cultural and historical context correctly into focus, dispelling myths, tales, and misconceived legends that were carried over throughout the centuries, creating an image that is far removed from the reality of a life that shines best by raw and real facts. And this is exactly what “I Am Patrick” brilliantly conveys.

We just finished watching it then the behind the scenes stuff, great movie.
My husband and I watched it Sunday night and learned a lot we didn’t know. He was a remarkable man — one of a kind.

That is one aspect that I admired about the movie. It had many additional details that I did not come across when I was writing a history about the man. Those details greatly enhanced by understanding of the man, the faith, and what allowing one’s self to align with God’s will accomplishes. It is a biblical story in and of itself, that predominantly plays out in the 5th century A.D.
I wish we knew something about how he passed away. Like did he know it was his time and shared some last words before lying down and going to heaven?
