Gavin Newsom and Steve Bannon found common ground over the idea that California is responsible for Elon Musk's rise to power.
The pair traded blows in a 56-minute chat for Newsom's new podcast, one that has drawn outrage from the governor's party for platforming the controversial Donald Trump ally.
However, at times, the polar opposites were largely collegial and even laughed at one another's jokes.
Newsom at one point tried to hit home Bannon's apparent distaste for 'First Buddy' Musk, who has donated hundreds of millions to Trump and since become head of the budget-slashing Department of Government Efficiency.
When he tried to nail Bannon on any friction between the two and wondering what Musk's 'endgame' was, the former White House advisor turned it back at Newsom.
Bannon responded: 'Well, you know him, you guys created him!'
Instead of firing back, Newsom agreed with Bannon's point, citing everything California had done for the Tesla and SpaceX CEO.
'In many respects, California did. Our regulatory process and our subsidies to create this market, you're 100% right,' Newsom said.

I am all for bipartisan conversation and debate. But Newsom’s agenda is dangerous. THINGS ARE SO BAD right now in CA since way before the FIRES. But to keep the most recent catastrophes out of headlines, and since he can’t run for president on his legacy as mayor or governor — this podcast is serving as a way to distract, reinvent his image, and eventually launch him for 2028. 🤢😷
Because conservatives ignorantly,think that liberals wanna make nice with them- they do not, ever! Our side hasn’t figured that out yet apparently, despite decades of proof of thst fact.
What a jackass. They didn’t create Musk. They enabled him. They wanted electric cars so badly they gave him all they could. Of course he took it.
Not to say that Musk is a pure opportunist. Musk has a vision that few can recognize. Even myself. But we taxpayers helped him towards his goal. His cars are Jetson style now. They drive themselves. Next year Tesla owners can rent them back as a driverless taxi service. And when the cars are parked in a driveway or lot all that energy storage and computing power, connected to Starlink, can be used to power GrokAI. Microsoft had to buy a $10 billion old nuclear power plant to power its AI. Musk sold millions cars with full battery charges and an internet connection to power AI for him.
People don’t see it. He’s mad genius.
No idea what he plans. Just saying that its obvious politics to look for other options. His old support network is blasted to bits and ideologically lost. Newsom started out as the “sensible” candidate in SF, you may recall (I don’t know if you were in the SF churn then). He was a Getty (oil guys) protege and first sold himself politically as a pragmatic small businessman, which is how he became mayor. He then connected with “woke” as it was then and got huge support as a proponent of gay marriage and eventually that made him governor. The pragmatic businessman thing went away.

Steve Bannon has been pretty nutty lately.
Last time I looked, Bannon hasn’t been elected to anything by anyone. Until he is, I don’t care what he says, what he does, or who he does it with.
The only thing responsible for Musk’s success is Musk. Newsom’s desperate attempt to position himself as a moderate by cozying up to Bannon and Charlie Kirk is pathetic, as is Bannon’s jealousy of Musk.
Newsom himself is just an opportunist.
Everything else is about who he’s hooked up with and THEIR agendas. And there are quite a few. Newsom would throw them under the bus in a second, or they him.
And don’t get me wrong, Newsom is a worthless person in any case.

That’s exactly me. Since 2020 I wouldn’t miss his show. Now I don’t watch any more. For one thing, Trump has stolen Bannon’s best guests for his Cabinet. His self-absorbed monologue rants have become intolerable. His hatred of Musk is sort of pathetic and it makes Bannon look small and jealous.
Musk does have a left-wing history, but so do many other people who are trying to save the country.

That would be true if you’d remove Bannon from that list. He has been bashing Musk for years. And he’s right when it comes to the Musk-China relationship which is disturbing. But he should respect Musk’s efforts re free speech and DOGE, which actually might be rescuing America.
Get America on solid ground, and then China can effectively be dealt with.

He’s PRETENDING that he wants to “learn” from them. He thinks that if he creates that illusion, he hopes will result in the right going more easy on him. But he’s a frickin’ sociopath freak and cannot be trusted AT ALL.
Charlie Kirk also interviewed him recently.
I would be surprised if Kirk or Bannon asked him about the pro-pedophile laws he has signed, as well as the pro-transgender ones. He signed a bill a couple of years ago allowing biological men into women’s prisons. God help the women and children who have been victimized on his watch. Gruesome Newsom is a fitting nickname.
No amount of Uniparty whitewashing can make him a palatable candidate.
She is now Trump’s Ambassador to Greece so I think she is still on the MAGA train.

I have no love for Bannon.
The liberals use Satan’s tactics of creating friction between Allies.
I’m seeing it in many marriages, between children and their parents, and in politics to the extreme.
Bannon is a bull in a China shop.
He punches hard.
However, if it were not for Bannon’s strategies, Hillary may have won in 2016.
Gruesome will say or do anything for bigger and better since he knows his days as governor are nearing an end.
