HOO BOY: Rubio Tag Teams With Musk to Shut Down Another Twisted Ukraine Story
Red State ^ | 03/09/25 | Nick Arama

At this point you have to wonder if some in Europe want the Ukraine war just to continue when they keep spitting in the eye of the United States' efforts to bring a diplomatic end to the war.

Elon Musk responded on X to someone suggesting he wasn't criticizing Vladimir Putin enough and that he was only criticizing Ukraine. Musk just squashed that thought with a little bit of history about how he challenged Putin and how vital his Starlink was to the Ukrainian army.

I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off.

What I am sickened by is years of slaughter in a stalemate that Ukraine will…— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) March 9, 2025

I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off.

What I am sickened by is years of slaughter in a stalemate that Ukraine will inevitably lose.

Anyone who really cares, really thinks and really understands wants the meat grinder to stop.

PEACE NOW!!

Now anyone should see that as him saying clearly how stupid this whole tack is, and how much he has supported Ukraine.

But here's how the Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski then responded.

Starlinks for Ukraine are paid for by the Polish Digitization Ministry at the cost of about $50 million per year.
The ethics of threatening the victim of aggression apart, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider we will be forced to look for other suppliers. https://t.co/WaJWCklgPE— Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺 (@sikorskiradek) March 9, 2025

The ethics of threatening the victim of aggression apart, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider we will be forced to look for other suppliers.

Wow. Elon didn't threaten any such thing, he was trying to say how things would collapse if he wasn't providing it. Translation? Where is the gratitude and why do people keep suggesting that he's somehow favoring Russia? That's an insane take from the Foreign Minister. And there are no "other suppliers" -- which is why what Musk is doing for Ukraine is so important. Elon then noted that Poland was only paying a small part of the cost. It's incredible the ingratitude from these folks about what Musk and the U.S. have done.

But Secretary of State Marco Rubio came in to back up Musk and shut down the twisted story from Sikorski.

Just making things up.
No one has made any threats about cutting Ukraine off from Starlink

And say thank you because
without Starlink Ukraine would have lost this war long ago and Russians would be on the border with Poland right now https://t.co/ImeiHFgaaw— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) March 9, 2025

Boom. Now that's a smoking response. Again, where the heck is the gratitude? Why is this guy trying to stir the pot? And this also scotched the media story trying to push a "clash" between Rubio and Musk.

Musk also backed up Rubio, shooting down how silly this was.

What Secretary Rubio says is absolutely correct https://t.co/S5rZoVPY0q— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) March 9, 2025

Rubio's comment had the Polish FM back on his heels and struggling to be conciliatory.

Thank you, Marco, for confirming that the brave soldiers of Ukraine can count on the vital internet service provided jointly by 🇺🇸 and🇵🇱.
Together, Europe and the United States can help 🇺🇦 to achieve a just peace.— Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺 (@sikorskiradek) March 9, 2025

Musk stuck his foot in his mouth. Under the circumstances, where the US has cancelled access to several US Intel and other systems (jamming pods on F16’s), as well as a commercial surveillance/mapping service; well just implying he could have a profound effect by cancelling Starlink, is going to trigger paranoia.

But, but, I thought Musk and Rubio were at each other’s throats! NYT told me so, and they wouldn’t lie, would they?😵

Do you have a link for your F-16 claims? From what I have seen, that claim has been made by only one Ukrainian source. Other sites (mainly dodgy ones) have repeated it. Do you have a more reliable source for which you can post a link here? Maybe it’s out there, but I just can’t find it. Thanks.

You continue to refuse accept reality. The reality is that we should have never baited Russia into attacking in the first place. But that is not what you want, you want bloodshed until Ukraine or Russia is defeated, and I see not way Ukraine defeats Russia. Let Europe take NATO to war, but without us, because NATO has no business pulling us in for a non NATO nation. I think the people of Europe will be gun0ho at first, and then regret it rather quickly.

have seen the same report from one source repeated by lefties all over Threads and X .he f-16s are from Denmark and doubtful the US has the ability to “Turn off remotely” features for the jet. That would constitute something really bad for an ally.

I wonder if Elon could keep Starlink on for Ukraine and turn it off in Poland?
If so he should make it go on and off, 20 minutes on 20 minutes off, for a day.

Then send a tweet to the Polish FM ... “You’re welcome!”

Thanks! That was the other thing I was wondering about. It was reported they received a few Danish and Dutch F-16s, but I haven’t seen reports of any directly from the US (could have missed them).

Not that they’ve been able to do much with the ones they have. After their best pilot crashed one right after they got them, never heard much of anything about them. They made a big deal out of a video of one flying over western Ukraine about a month or so ago, just flyer along. Some “game changer”, eh?
