America’s major cities are crumbling under Democrat leadership. From San Francisco to Chicago, urban centers have become showcases of dysfunction rather than beacons of prosperity.
The pattern repeats itself with disturbing predictability. Beautiful, historic downtowns transformed into tent cities. Public spaces commandeered by the homeless. Tourist areas that visitors increasingly avoid. All while Democrat mayors talk about “compassion” and “equity” instead of actually solving problems. --------------
“In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, the president specifically referenced areas near the State Department and the White House that are populated with homeless encampments that need to be removed, adding that the nation’s capital ‘must become CLEAN and SAFE!'”
“‘If she is not capable of doing so, we will be forced to do it for her!’ Trump wrote, in part. ‘We want to be proud of our Great Capital again. Thank you Mayor Bowser for your efforts on behalf of the Citizens of our Country. Hopefully you will be successful!'”
Trump’s ultimatum to Bowser represents more than just a dispute over homeless encampments. It highlights a fundamental question: Who steps in when local leadership fails to maintain basic standards in areas of national importance?
The answer, at least for now, appears to be President Trump.
Let's see how she responds to the much more demanding problem of those homeless tents messing up the classic beauty of the Federal landscape in D.C.
Time to reopen mental hospitals.
Washington, D.C. was established as the capital of the United States on July 16, 1790. The US Constitution dictated that the capital would be located on the Potomac River and would be no more than 10 miles square.
That it is a city is incidental to its status as a district created to host the federal government.
If local yokels can’t keep it safe and clean, shove them aside. They don’t have to like it.
Bowser will be the first patient.

*BUMP*
I sure hope they clean up Union Station.
That used to be a beautiful place to shop or grab a meal.
Yep, the area was never meant to be a political element, is was to be apolitical. It needs disbanded, all courts disbanded and turned over to states. Federal legal issues need to become a state lottery for court selection.
Looks like Bowser got the message. President Trump posted these today:

We should put the bug in RFK’s ear on this topic! And also whoever is in charge of the VA these days.
Mental Health is a HUGE problem all across America. My BFF has her Masters in Social Work (Yeah, she’s pretty normal, considering, LOL!) and worked with homeless Veterans for a very long time.
She really had NOWHERE to send them for serious, long-term help. Giving a homeless person meds to take for their ‘issues’ doesn’t seem to get the job done when EVERY aspect of their life is in turmoil.
I could’ve had some very, VERY bad things happen to me while serving. There, but for the GRACE of God, go I! As far as Veterans go - they should be at the top of the list for assistance. And our homeless Vets are a BIG Part of the problem. We have REALLY let them down! The number of female Vets that are now homeless (sometimes with kids in tow) is staggering!
*Steps Off Soapbox* ;)
Have vagrancy laws actually been repealed? Not sure they have been. 30 days on the farm.
I would tell him go for it.
Yeah, well, he would.
And you'd feel it.
Not me. Far from homeless.
But you said you would tell him to go for it.
And that’s just at her house.
Where is Mayor/Commissioner Washington when we need him?

I agree, My medical comes from the VA and I own a home.
But from my point of view, the VA has the wrong focus.
If I go to the VA clinic seeking some help for my Arthritis.
They ask a standard set of questions.
For once I told them the truth on the quantity Of beer I drink per day. They went nuts!
They wanted me to drive to the ER and get treatment for De-TOX!
I pointed out all my vitals are always good(Full VA physical every year), Haven’t had a DUI since I was a minor, Was a senior EE and Computer Scientist for many years, Married for 47 years, and I drank that much virtually every day for the last 50 years!
Focus! Do you think I’m drunk now? I just want a steroid shot for my lower back arthritis. That is the immediate problem.
Effing idiots! No wonder to me why Homeless Vets Don’t want their help. Fix the immediate problem and then we can examine the longer term problem!
Rant off!
You’re seriously pissed off because a doctor is concerned about your health and wellbeing?
Most of the District of Columbia other than the immediate vicinity of the White House, Congress and the Federal offices and embassies should be returned to Maryland. That state ceded the territory to the Federal government as did Virginia to have a capital in the South. (Today Maryland is not considered Southern, but it was considered Southern in 1800.) Virginia reclaimed the territory conceded to the Feds, which is mostly present day Arlington.
