It’s simple, you support the war and provide the boots. You don’t need America, you support it by words now put your actions to your worthless mouth.
Yes if Europe supplies boots on the ground and the outcome is on them.
We can sit back and enjoy the spoils of war.
EU, etc need access to US markets, we do not need them. We are the world’s largest market. So all the jingoistic posturing by the Alt Leftists in governments around the world is just noise for their room temperature IQ voters.
They will bluster and rage right up to the point the trigger is about to be pulled and then they will surrender. It has been the EU way from the start. We just never had a President willing to call their bluff.
I think this is bluff and bluster for public opinion as well. It will play out in the hours and days ahead. Europe will talk tough and capitulate.
Anyone wanting to carry it further will have to take out Donald J. Trump let’s hope there are no fanatics in the “Deep State” apparatus here in the USA or in the Ukrainian intelligence ranks.
Nextrush, you may be one of the last few people still using that term “Yellow Vests” in either English or in French.
I could be mistaken.
I don’t think it has occurred to many people that this might not be a money issue. First of all, moving past the 36 trillion debt, it’s very possible that the raw materials necessary to produce the millions literally millions of artillery shells required may not exist under friendly land.
Russia’s land surface area may define an insurmountable advantage.
“They need us, we dpn’t need them”
Not true. Although the proper word isn’t need. Both we and they are better off because of military alliances and trade.
In terms of size, we are about $25 trillion and Europe together is also about $25 trillion. We are both enormous. For a comparison, Russia is about $2 trillion. China and India are each becoming enormous.
The U.S. and Europe are each other’s biggest trade partner by far. While we both have highly advanced economies, there are some important differences: For example, we have many strengths in natural resources and agriculture (to include fibers and well as fuels). But, between us, trade is more dependent on rivalries among roughly similar companies (e.g., Boeing versus Airbus), rather than the classical model of trade.
Trump term 1 was correct to point out that many of our European allies were short-shrifting their obligations per NATO. This is no longer true. In a strange way (4D chess?), Trump term 2 has motivated Europe to own up to its responsibilities.
Europe needs to take primary responsibility for Europe. Our role in Europe is affected by our dual responsibilities both to the west and to the east, both toward the Pacific and toward the Atlantic. What we can do in both directions include (a) our nuclear umbrella, (b) our intelligence, (c) our logistics, and (d) our strategic capabilities.
Indeed, when we put “boots on the ground” during the Cold War and the post-Cold War periods, mostly resulted in costly mistakes.
Their responsibilities go beyond spending at least 2 percent of GDP on defense. It is to toughen up their people. Poland is a great example with their new Territorial Defense Force. We can use some of that ourselves.
