Report the news already

he departure of Joy Reid from MSNBC, Jimmy Olsen Acosta from CNN, Woodchuck Todd from MSNBC, Norah O’Donnell from CBS and Lester Holt from NBC are ratings driven. Their ratings dropped because their opinions and reporting are dull, predictable and boring.

The constant barrage of sustained outrage over misrepresented events such as labeling as a Nazi salute Elon Musk stretching out his hand now competes in the public arena with a little thing that I like to call the truth.

This greatly undermines the propaganda value of media outlets. Things are going so far south for the Washington Post that a desperate Jeff Bezos will try having its editorial pages balanced again.

Opinion pages are not the problem. Relevance is.

Big Media should hire a few people to report the political news objectively instead of relying on Democrat talking points to fill their airwaves. Now is the time to do so, because the re-installation of Trump as president provided a cornucopia of great news stories.

Considering they seem to require four gerbilists to write an article, they'd be hiring a lot of people.

No, their ratings dropped because they are liars and paid verbal bomb-throwers for the left.

Indeed. They all read from the same memo. Same words. Same stories. They are only paid as much as they are (were ) is because they are known names and are willing to play ball. They could be replaced with Max Headroom for a few dollars a day to read propaganda.

Big media will begin to spend money on podcasters and streamers soon. Cheaper budgets, same talking points, bigger return on investment.

Norah O'Donnell quit because she is undergoing treatment for malignant melanoma.

“the re-installation of Trump as president provided a cornucopia of great news stories.”

indeed ... and just out of curiosity, this morning i checked with the abc, cbs and nbc news sites to see if they were covering ANY of the multiplicity of outrageous, corrupt, fraudulent and/or wasteful FedGov spending being uncovered by the Trump administration, and as far as i could tell none of them covered a single instance of the above ... all i could find were a couple of sob stories about the poor, poor, pitiful FedGov employees who got laid off ...

no one who watches ONLY the legacy media has a clue about what is REALLY going in politics today, which is probably why the voices of the legacy media grow smaller, quieter and less relevant with each and every passing day ...

“Big media will begin to spend money on podcasters and streamers soon. Cheaper budgets, same talking points, bigger return on investment.”

given that the investment is miniscule, so is the ROI ...

going from broadcast or cablecast to online digital or streaming due to declining ratings is a death spiral move by dying media ... multiple newspapers have tried this move throughout the nation in the last 20 years, only to very quickly completely fail and close up shop or sub-merge into some generic state-wide newspaper ...

a move to digital/streaming has several gigantic drawbacks compared to broadcast and cablecast:

1. revenue is a tiny fraction of national TV advertising and/or cable carrier fees, thus a former powerhouse must quickly reduce in size to near irrelevance ...

2. customers have to ACTIVELY SEEK OUT YOUR “+” WEBSITE/PODCAST AND PAY MONEY vs simply snuggling into the couch and pressing a button on the remote clicker to mindlessly select your channel

3. new streamers/websites enter a world in which they are suddenly in a competition with a gazillion existing streamers/websites, many of whom already have large dedicated audiences, so good luck in attracting the attention of new customers ...

They will buy up existing voices, and throw lots of money at promotion. It won’t be a straight switch they be multi platform. No premium fees. Just ad revenues. Yes the alt media streaming will earn less but that won’t be the only way to monetize it.

Agenda-driven media lies are cheaper to create than objective news coverage.
