I think Boeing will be gone. Delta, not so sure.
You would have to demonstrate damages. 10 million? Come on.
The very first paragraph in the excerpt above: "This gesture, totaling over $2.2 million, is provided “with no strings attached” and does not affect passengers’ rights to pursue legal action."
Rumors are, the co-pilot is Kendal Swanson, twenty-six years old. She was a beauty pageant winner in Minnesota. Her Facebook page is “currently unavailable “. One post claims she was recently licensed to fly a small jet plane. Another one states she was still in training but possibly was the one landing the plane. This might all be untrue.
Probably the offer was really 30,000 frequent flyer miles... which won’t even get you an upgrade to first-class.
PTSD...caused by breathtaking negligence by Delta.
The problem that these airlines are having is that they FORCED all of their competent pilots to take a vaccines that has left a percentage of them unable to pass health screenings.
Therefore, they had to retire prior to their 60 year old typical threshold. So, they have lost a good portion of their most experienced pilots since Covid.
The other issue is that we just do not have as many pilots coming out of the military as we used to. Again, this is not the problem of the airlines. It has to do with the amount of pilots in our military.
So, where do the pilots come from?
It means you have to promote people without as much experience as was typical thirty years ago.
What about FREE peanuts for life?
Come on man

.::...two female DEI hires who were the pilots....
^^^^^^^^^^
Has that identification been released? I have seen only speculation that they were females.
In return for an NDA and promise not to sue, no doubt.
What do you expect from a DEI airline.
Cargo requires 500 hours but passenger aircraft requires 1,500 hours.
You are right, the cargo companies hire pilots as soon as they get 500 hours. The CRJ aircraft are notorious for hiring the 1,500 pilots. The majors, typically Boeing 737 or larger aircraft, have been hiring DEI hires.
All of this is very dangerous. Even the 1,500 hour requirement was a recent change from 500 hours because of the accidents.
Pilot/tower communications here. Nothing to suggest that speaking pilot was a diversity hire.
It is easy to get a licensed mental health professional to sign off on issues that hold up in court. Long gone are the days of significant piles of evidence for that.
I have no problems with female or non white pilots so long as they are trained to high standards. I worry about standards being upheld.
My instructor for my twin rating was a woman. She was a great pilot. She eventually went to work for Southwest Airlines and was a very senior training captain when she retired. She earned it all on merit. This was years before this DEI crap.
Thanks!
Re: making a claim that she was a DEI hire:
What is the definition of a “DEI hire”? Please provide specifics.
Saying she was a female, so she was a DEI hire is... well... ignorant.
LOL. I was on a flight that had issues and had to be diverted. It took ~6 hours before another plane took us to our destination. I received 10K miles as an apology.
I had read one place she was doing the flying with a more senior pilot observing her.
“The cause of the crash is under investigation.” I think the cause could be linked to two women pilots fighting over the joy stick.
