I regret to inform you the megachurch pastors are at it again.
Rick Warren, the former pastor of Saddleback Church, just posted this gem on X:

Ok, where to start with this one?
Ok, so since Jesus was on the middle cross between two thieves, we should be ... politically centrist? That seems like ... a bit of a stretch?

John 19:18 “They crucified Jesus with two others-one on each side & Jesus in the middle.” The guys on both sides were thieves. "If you’re looking for the #realJesus, not a caricature disfigured by partisan motivations, you’ll find him in the middle, not on either side."

I saw right thru Rick Warren over 25 years ago. The church was pushing his " purpose driven life " crap. Utter garbage.
Rick is going to be a bit cooler in hell than olsten, but only a few degrees.

Our Lord offered eternal life to both those men, and only one accepted.
What are we to make of that, Mr. Warren?

Not surprising when that liberal Baptist calls Frankie “our pope”.

The guys on both sides were thieves. So taking this a little further, the guy on the Left is a Dem. He definitely is a thief. The guy on the Right is a NeoCon. Maybe not a true thief but definitely spending money on endless wars, which is kinda like a thief. Jesus, in the middle, is like Trump!!!!

The focus is not on Jesus in that scene but rather the two reactions from each side. Jesus isn't in the middle...there is no middle. There is only right and wrong. Salvation or death.
The two thieves represent the two paths for man. One of seeking forgiveness and believing in the Son of God and his purpose of salvation for his people...or...one of unrepentance, separation from God, eternal damnation, and spiritual death.

There’s no such thing as “centrist” in a moral world. The scriptures would call it “double minded,” which is soundly condemned.

What the Heaven?
The guy turned into a bizarre squish.
Here’s a somewhat mixed metaphor for Rick Warren....
...and some fell on rocky soil, and sprung up, but the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choked it, and it became unfruitful and died.”
I hope that doesn’t describe Rick.
