Federal government appropriates billions to benefit states (highways, etc.).
Could DOGE begin to audit and look for government waste at the State or even local level?
Tie the federal funding to, say a 'suggested' lists of cuts?
Trump administration is open to new ideas. Might be a way to end the Dem/RINO money machines through grift.
Link is to the DOGE - very Spartan - website.
.
Could AI be used?
States and cities are addicted to Fed funds. And they vote for congress critters.
If the cities and states had any decency, they would mimic DOGE. But politics is a machine greased by money. They don’t want to cut a thing.
I’d not recommend much more than recommendations, and drawing publicity to questionable expenditures. Leave it up to voters to influence state and local officials who would normally protest at federal dictates.
A good start would be not allowing them to use federal Medicaid funds on illegals.
Only what the federal government may supply the state & local governments, which I do not think the federal government deals with local levels. They use send to the states, and the states dole the money out to the local levels.
The reduction of Federal monies going to the states, along with other actions being taken by Trump to return responsibilities to and empower state and local governments, will have the intended effect of decentralizing this overbearing beast which was not what the founders envisioned.
Process review and bringing in efficiency folks has always been possible. They just don’t do it.
The Commonwealth of MA had a ballot question last year to allow the State House and Senate to be audited. It passed overwhelmingly. But the folks n the State House are taking it to court.
Can you imagine, these dirtbags don’t want to be audited?
It could happen at every state. It would save millions.
Perhaps.
But perhaps it opens the door to discovering fraud, abuse, and outright theft.
You play with my money, you play by my rules.
Dems and RINOs will have their pet projects gutted.
Seems like a big win for the public and Trump.
Founders didn’t envision insider trading. Fifty year political careers. Lying media. Globalist agenda. Epstein’s island. Flus cooked up by our enemies.
Lots of things would astound them.
Probably. Find out where grifting and false claims are documented , punish the grifters and cut the funds as a multiple of the grift.(cause most likely you are just documenting the tip of the iceberg.) But get the grifters and put them in jail...20 years...
The 'highways' excuse is like the 'illegals picking crops' excuse: less than 1% of illegals pick crops. The majority go to large democrat cities and collect welfare, housing benefits and food stamps.
The “Highway excuse” is how the federal government controls almost every aspect of our lives. The Commerce Clause. Post Civil War and the decisions by SCOTUS the feds >>> states.
Since 94% of federal employees in Washington no longer leave their homes, who is custodian of all that federal records retention required by law? Really! This is illegal from a documents preservation aspect.
Sort of. They can cut off grant funding to the states for crap programs.
You mean like how you still can’t pump your own gas in New Jersey...
State, County, City, and Local government entities are just as corrupt as the Federals. There is a lot of wasted money just in the Democrat-controlled New York State Legislature, and Democrat-controlled cities like Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse, along with New York City’s City Council. They should all be audited fully.
Cut ALL federal funding for illegals.
No housing, no food stamps, no driver’s licenses, no free education, only life saving emergency medical care, and I’m sure there are things I’m missing.
Theoretically, yes, but most of the grift and waste happens in blue cities and they will never use DOGE. Maybe one day when a city declares bankruptcy and put in receivership.
